Business changes name
as new partner added
The former Mousseau and
Parkins garage in the village
of Zurich will now be known
as the Parkins and Erb
Garage.
The friendly family
business has been a land
mark and is well established
Zurich
Carmel Sweeney
in the area. The late Herb
Mousseau started the garage
around 1919, his son-in-law
Jim Parkins joined him in
1939.
Recently, Jim's son-in-law
Charles (Chuck) Erb who
has been with the business
ten years was made a part-
ner.
Farwell Party
A farewell party was held
last Sunday for Mr. & Mrs.
Daniel Knight, at the cottage
of Raymond Oesch.
Dan and Mary have lived
at the lake for 24 years at the
Denomme, Harvey sub-
division north of St. Joseph
across from the Catholic
Church.
Ten of the twelve cottage
owners in the division helped
celebrate' the occasion,
Mozarts Melody Makers
provided the music and
everyone enjoyed a pot luck
supper.
Mr. Knight is employed at
the Arc Industries in Dash-
wood as their baker, the
couple will be moving to
Exeter soon.
Newly weds
Congratulations to Mr. &
Mrs. John Jeffrey (nee
Lesley Hogg) who were
married at St. Peters
Catholic Church.
Showers held
A bridal shower was held
for Grace Schwartzentruber
on Monday evening at the
Zurich Mennonite Church
hall.
Mrs. Carolyn Stark hosted
a shower at her home last
Tuesday for Mary Bowers,
fiancee of Tom Stark.
Catholic Women's League
The St. Boniface Catholic
Women's League held their
September meeting in the
school gym with 30 members
present. Minutes were read
and approved, Correspon-
dents was read 'by Cecilia
Smith. Treasurer Martha
Ducharme gave a report on
profit at the bean festival.
A donation is being sent to
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Drapes have been purchased
for the rectory. November 18
is the date of our Parish fall
bingo..
October is the month of the
living rosary. Two delegates
were attained to attend the
March of Dimes Annual
Meeting in Kitchener.
Meeting was adjourned by
Mrs. Trudy Thuss. Group 3
served lunch. The door prize
was won by Mrs. Pearl
Miller.
Personals
Gordon and Jeanne Hay
are pleased to have a new
granddaughter, she was
born to Wendy and Bill
Rowan on September 12.
Dr. Charles Wallace was
away for a few days with
some of his doctor friends, to
James Bay on a goose
hunting trip.
Bob Thiel had the
misfortune of an injury at
work (the mill) last Wed-
nesday, and is a patient in
University hospital.
Mrs. Seleda Steckle, Mr. &
Mrs. Paul Steckle and Mr. &
Mrs. Elam Shantz attended
the wedding of their nephew.,
Ronald Glenn Shantz at
Calvary Baptist Church at
Burlington, Ontario. Friday
evening, following this
former spent the week end in
the Kitchener and New
Hamburg areas.
Mr. & Mrs. Lee Regier
visited on Saturday with the
formers' parents Mr. & Mrs.
Peter Regier in Kitchener.

mother, Mrs. Margaret
Denomme passed away last
week in Detroit. Harold and
Madeline have a summer
cottage at the lake.
Relatives came from
Vancouver and Thunder Bay
to attend the Hogg -Jeffrey
wedding. They stayed with
Mr. & Mrs. James Hogg and
family.
Mr. & Mrs. Nocinik from
Australia are spending two
weeks with her brother and
family, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph
Kenda.
