Varna entries in the
Bayfield Fair parade did
very well, with first prize
Varna
by Mary Chessell
going to the merchant's
float, the Varna Express,
and to Julie Webster and
Krista McAsh for best
decorated bicycle and
tricycle. Darryn McAsh
came second for decorated
bicycle. On Monday morning
they took a tour through the
village, so residents who
were unable to attend the
fair could see the float and
the children in their
costumes.

Ruby Martin of Brantford,
won five firsts in the painting
classes at the fair.
Win sawing contest
Tom Consitt and Graham
Craig took second prize in
the log sawing contest at the
Huron County ploughing
match with a time of 41
seconds. Elmer Hayter and
Tom also participated in the
reeves and wardens
ploughing competition.
Hold reunion
The Turner family reunion
was held on Sunday at
Stanley Township park.
