Foster reunion
The Foster family reunion
was held at the St.- Boniface
Parish this past Thursday.
Following mass , a brief
ceremony was held to honour
the dead members of the
family.
Later in the day, dinner for
165 guests was enjoyed along
with a visit to the old
.homestead.
Two orchestras provided
the music for a dance in the
evening at the Zurich

Carmel Sweeney, a resident
of Zurich for the past 16
years. Mrs. Sweeney who is
originally from Windsor has
been very active in many
organizations in the village.
She and her husband Jerome
and their four daughters
reside on Bismark street. If

Geiger Reunion
The 12th reunion of the,
family of Moses Geiger and
Catherine Eckstein was held
on Sunday July 23, at Dash-
wood Community Park.
About 40 persons enjoyed an
afternoon of visiting and
games conducted by the
McBride family. Following a
sumptuous pot -luck
supper, a, business meeting,
chaired by president, Mrs.
Judy White, ended the day:
The executive for 1979 are
Cliff Beynan, president, Tom
Rowe, vice-president, Carole
Whitehead, secretary-tre-,
asurer. The oldest family
member present was Mrs.
Melizza Geiger who was for
many years a resident of the
Zurich. area.
Smith reunion
Approximately 150 people
attended the Smith reunion
held at the home of Edward
and Donna Lesperance.
After dinner, a dance was
held to the song stylings of
the Lesperance Trio.
Visitors came from
Barrie, Peterborough,
Hamilton, Windsor, Belle
River, Detroit and Zurich.
Bridal Shower
A bridal shower for Miss
Patti Overholt, daughter of
Martha and Wilfred Overholt
was held recently at St.
Peter's parish hall.
Personals
A train trip to Toronto, and
visit to various places of
interest for two days was
thoroughly enjoyed by
Mozart and Julie Gelinas.
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Flaxbard
have recently returned from
a trip to Fergus and Kit-
chener Ontario.
A joint birthday party for
Mr. Mozart Gelinas Sr. ,
Carrie Sweeney and Aimee
Gelinas was held at the home
of Mr. '& Mrs. Jerome
Sweeney.
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Gingerich
of Aradia Florida are
visiting with the latters
brother Mr. Alvin Steckle
and other relatives in the
area.
Guests for a week at the
cottage of Mozart and Marie
Gelinas were Mrs. Anna
Marie (Sweeney) Cavill� her
daughter Kathleen and
friend Laurie, all of Detroit.

children, Shelley, and Jay
formerly of St. Catharines
who recently moved to the
village.Mrs. Deloris Benanti
of Chicago daughter of Mrs.
Nora Mittleholtz is spending
a week's vacation with her
mother.
Mrs. Gladys Morrison of
Preston is visiting her
daughter and family Mr. &
Mrs. Ed Keenan at the
Dominion Hotel.
Visiting the Grand Ole
Opry in Nashville Tenn. ,
seems to have. become
popular with some area
couples lately including, The
Ivan Meidingers, Dennis
Overholts, Gordon Hays,
Harold Dietrich's and Ken
McCarters who had the
pleasure of personally
speaking to June Carter and
Johnny Cash.
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Lee of
Fort Erie called at the
Harold Thiel home on
Monday. Mrs. Lee and the
Thiels met in Vernon B.C.
while their husbands were
nursing orderlies in the
military Hospital during the
war of 1943-1946. It is 32
years that they have not seen
each other when they left
Vernon to return to civilian
life, so they had a nice
surprise visit with lots of
army life to talk about.
