GOOD TIMES AT TALENT SHOW — While Friedsburg talent show MC Dick Williams of
radio station CJBK of London was continually surrounded by many talented performers, these
two ladies took a somewhat more direct approach in showing their wares. Ida May Humper-
dink (Mrs. Fred Wells, Exeter) and her lovely daughter Angeline (Mrs. Dave Rader,

SAVINGSS tanley park is
rained out. Their second
game was scheduled for last
night at Varna.
The Men'8 slowpitch game
scheduled for Wednesday
night was also rained out,
and was to be played this
week against the Fanshers
Flyers of Bayfield. This is a
best 2 out of 3 with the next
game probably on Friday
night. Our Varna team
placed top in the South
Huron Slowpitch League
standing. Congratulations to
them.
A reminder that some of
the men and children playing
ball this year have not yet
paid their registration fee.
For all men playing inter -
township ball the fee is $5.00
and the children's is $3.00 or
$5.00 per family. Please hand
it to_ your coach or team
captain as soon as possible.
We hope you are still
thinking about our Crest
Contest. Remember, your
design is tobe drawn on a
sheet of 8 x 10 paper, using
only three or four colours.
Include your name and
address, and submit as
many entries as you wish to

velope. All envelopes will
remain sealed until Sep-
tember 15, the last entry
date.
The fall dance was set for
October 28 at Billy Gully,
with music by the Music
Makers. Tickets will be
available next month, so
mark this date on your
calendar.

Improvements to the ball
park include fencing along
the first and third base lines,
and a snow fence along the
oat -field. A water fountain
has been installed and the
ball lights have been
repaired. The food booth has
been opened for the Thur-
sday night games by an
enterprizing girl, Sherrie
Taylor. She sells pop, chips
and gum, and if it is suc-
cessful it may be open on
other ball nights too.
T -ball has proven very
popular with the 9 years and
younger children who are not
involved in, organized ball.
They play on Wednesday
afternoons at 1:30.
The boys' and girls' teams,
also the Varna men's team in
the South Huron Slowpitch
League have finished
regular games, and the
semi-final play-offs began
last week. Senior girls won
over Auburn a week ago
Tuesday night at Varna, and
were to play the same team
this week at Auburn. The
Junior girls' A team
defeated Benmilier at Varna,
while the B team lost at
Holmesville last week. This
past Tuesday, the A team
was in Benmiller and the B
team hosted Holmesville at
our ball park.
The Senior boys lost their
first play-off game a week
ago Monday night against
Benmiller at Benmiller,
while the Tykes team won
their game at Benmiller. The
Peewee boys' game against
Benmiller at Varna a week
ago Wednesday night was
