Have bake sale for nursery school

Fund raising efforts for the
new Co-operative Nursery
School in Hensall are con-
tinuing with a bake sale to be
held on August 19 at Pine
Lake, Bayfield. The last
bake sale in Hensall raised
over $200. Donations of
suitable toys for a nursery
school would be appreciated:
There will also be a draw at
the end of September for a
grocery voucher, value $100.
Banker Honoured
A most enjoyable evening
was spent at the home of Mr.
& Mrs. Eric Luther, Wed-
nesday when the Staff,
husbands and wives of the
Bank of Montreal assembled
to honour Ron Sakkal, ad-
minstration manager who
has been transferred to
Alliston.
During the evening Mr.
Luther presented Ron with a
gift for which Ron expressed
sincere thanks. Mr. Thomas
Tilley from the Bank of
Montreal Branch, Goderich
replaced Mr, Sakkal,
Celebrates Birthday
Mrs. Annie Noakes
celebrated her 80th birthday
Friday August 4 and at-
tended the wedding of her
grand -son Robert Noakes
and Lorraine Staples in
Seaforth in the evening. Mrs.
Noakes enjoys very good
health and plans a trip to the
East Coast in the future.
She received many cards
and gifts and her grand-
daughter Brenda Noakes of
London and her grand -son
and Mr. & Mrs. David
Noakes and Jeffrey of
Guelph spent the occasion
with her. Mrs. Frances
Seimon telephoned her
mother from California to
wish her greetings.
Carmel Church
Mr. Leslie Perry of
Brussels conducted service
in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday
Miss Brenda Pepper
presided at the organ for the
service of song and ac-
companied the quartette
entitled "Pass It On" by
Misses Brenda, Laurie
Marylin and Joanne Pepper,
There will be no service
during the remainder of the
month of August.

visited with his sister and
her husband, Mr. & Mrs.
Sam Oesch last Thursday.
Victoria Bisback spent the
week end with her grand
parents, Dr. & Mrs. Roger
Whitman of Seaforth at their
cottage at Selkirk.
Menno Hofftra of Holland
has been visiting with his
sister and family Mr. & Mrs.
John Groot.
Mr. & Mrs. James Cerney
and family of London visited
with the latter's brother.
Lloyd Regier and family and
with other relatives and
friends over the week end.

Mary Hunt, Walton and Mr.
& Mrs. Sim Roobol all at-
tended the 87th birthday of
Mrs. J.M. Glenn in Exeter
last week.

few days last week with the

Ernie Davis underwent
surgery in St. Joseph's
Hospital London recently
and it is hoped that he will be
returning home soon.
Paul Dodds, Seaforth,
spent the holiday week end
with his grand parents, Mr.
& Mrs. Sim Roobol.
