McGregor for adding life to carried lunches, Also, the club will. learn tips on what to keep in mind when planning dinner which will be useful now and in the future; to put party planning into practice with a fun time and a chance to show off new cooking skills. Once again in order to have 4-11 clubs in the village of Hensall, leaders and assistant leaders are urgently needed. There have been Nearly 31 girls interested in the past clubs and it would be a shame if they could not carry on for lack of leaders. Seeing the satisfaction and the smiles on the girls' faces when they get their awards for a finished club is your reward. If anybody reading this article feels she could help by either leading or assisting please contact Joyce Pepper at 262-2394 immediately or before August 11. No services till September Rev. Harold Snell con- ducted the service at Hensall United Church on Sunday July 30, preaching on the subject, . "What does Jesus mean to you?" Deejays win league title The regular season of the Zurich men's recreational softball league has concluded with the Dee jays finishing on top. Finishing off the league were the Oilburners in second, Shaws in third, Patz in fourth, the Sunsets in fifth and the Pontiacs finishing in last place. In the playoffs which started Monday the Dee jays nipped Patz 7-6 and the Oilburners defeated the Sunsets 5-3. Winners of the best 2 out of 3 series advance to the championship round while the losers play in the con- solation round. Mrs. Donna St. John sang, "The Lord's my Shepherd" and Richard Fujarczuk was at the organ. Richard is a law student whose musical talents have to be heard to be realized; thank you Richard for your help this summer and especially for your in- spiring postludes. There will be no further services in the United Church until Sunday, Sep- tember 3, Visit Huronview The ladies of the Hensall Women's Institute visited Huronview last Wednesday to provide entertainment for the July birthday party. Numbers were provided by Mrs. Laird Mickle playing old`" favourites on the piano while Mrs. Carl Payne led in community singing. The big hit of the afternoon was provided by three seniors of Zurich, Henry Adkins, step - dancing and playing the mouth organ, Alf Denomine on the violin and Joe Boland on the piano.. Our grateful thanks to all who helped with this programme, the lunch and the gifts. Wins awards Sandra Wadel., 13 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wadel of Hensall, About people Visitors Saturday with Mr. & Mrs. Norman Koehler were Mr. & Mrs. Harold Koehler and son Brian, Toronto and Mrs. Notty and, Isobel. Joining them for dinner were Greta and Leonard Erb and Sharon and Bob Erb and Billy. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gittus and sons of Rochester, Minnesota and Mrs. Richard Gittus of Bridgeton, Missouri visited recently with Mrs. _ Gertrude Gittus of the Bluewater Rest Home. They also visited with relatives in the area, and were ,house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fisher. Relatives and family of Mrs. -Gertrude Gittus, gathered recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schroeder Dashwood to celebrate Mrs. Gittus' 80th birthday. Miss Esther and Mary Steckle, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mumaw and daughter Heidi spent several days with their. mother Mrs. Seleda Steckle and other family members recently. They also attended the "Steckle Reunion" while here. brought back two Adjudicators Awards to this area from the Ontario Central Music League Festival held at the Airport Holiday Inn at Malton. She was chosen from the third year solo accordion class and along with Gerda Brand of Clinton took the Adjudicators Award for the third year duet class. Both girls are the students of Miss Diane Stevenson of Clinton. Hensall Sales Barn The Hensall Sales Barn was active again last week with steady prices; supply consisted mainly of heifers and steers. Fat cattle; heifers, $56.50-$62.50, sales to $65.00; steers, $62.50-$65.50, sales to $66.50, Pigs $35.00- $48.50. Personals Mr. &• Mrs. Sim Roobal and Mr. Anthony Gelderland of Ridgetown spent a few days exploring the coun- tryside around Wiarton and Tobermory last week. While at Tobermory, they watched the "Big Canoe" the S.S. Chi- Cheemaun unload and load for its crossing to Manitoulin Island. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Scane have returned from a three week bus tour to .Victoria, British Columbia, and back. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Smith have enjoyed a two week visit to the latter's home town, Lower Montague in Prince Edward Island where they have been holidaying with her mother, Mrs. Hannah Cowan.
