good to have some form of a physical outburst of
sorrow.
As this column is being written an uncle of
mine passed away about 24 hours ago. This death
has struck me as being different from the other
two.
My initial reaction was one of joy both for my
uncle and his immediate family as he too, had been
a victim of cancer.
This guy had been through a lot before he final-
ly succumbed.
In addition to fighting cancer, he was battling
emphysema, and angina while at the same time
maintaining an interest in the produce co-operative
where he was manager.
He was a fighter right up until the last moment.
Death is something which each person reacts
differently too. It's one of the few instances left in
the world when individuality shows through.
As Robert Browning said: "You never know
what life means till you die: Even throughout life,
'tis death that makes life live, Gives it whatever
the significance."
