Kim Hayter, a member of the Clinton Brownie pack, was required to complete a money -making project and decided to give the $.50 she made to Arc Industries through the campaign. Well-done Kim! Arc Industries has ex- panded rapidly, and is producing lawn furniture, etc. at a fast pace. They are doing some baking in the former crafts room, but should soon be moving into a larger shop area. Groups who wish to tour their facilities can arrange for meals at $4.00 for a cold plate and $4.50 for a hot meal. They like to have two weeks' advance notice, and can accommodate fairly large groups, Works in Montrea I Cheryl Webster recently began her summer em- ployment at Les Archives Nationales at Montreal as an inventory worker. Marie last Wednesday to visit her son Bill and Mary. On Saturday they attended the Convocation ceremonies of Algoma University - College, when Bill received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Bill teaches at Alexander Henry High School. Have Shower Cheryl Peck was honoured with a community bridal shower at Goshen Church on Wednesday evening. The entertainment began with a stepdance by Tracy Hayter, followed by a song from Mary Poppins, "Super- califragilisticexpialidoci- ous," by Sandy Peck and Kim Hayter. Last winter Mrs. Peck's neighbours helped quilt a Centennial quilt for Cheryl, which task they re-enacted in an amusing skit. Several of the ladies modeled the brides trousseau AnnLavis read an address of good wishes and Cheryl was presented with many lovely and useful gifts for which she graciously thanked everyone. She also invited the ladies to their wedding reception, which is being held at the Pineridge Chalet, Hensall, and which is open to all. Mrs. Peck invited the ladies to an Open House on Tuesday June 20, to view the gifts. A delicious lunch was served by the Goshen women. Persona Is Bill Dowson, accompanied by son John, and Paul and Scott Consitt, took a bus trip to Toronto on Sunday to see the Blue Jays ball game. - Barry and Pat Taylor and Eric and Sharon Chuter spent a couple of days in Toronto and also attended the Blue Jays ball game. Don Taylor has returned home after spending a few days in Clinton Hospital. Congratulations to Lori Consitt, who passed her figure -skating exams in Swing --first preliminary dances, and her preliminary figures. Gone Fishing Your correspondent and her husband, accompanied by Don and Olive Riehl of Sebringville, spent the weekend at Munro Park, Powassan, Can't brag about catching more fish than Bill this time, but I'll give it another try the end of June. Meet at Camp Mrs. Margaret Taylor was hostess for the June meeting of the United Church Women in the beautiful outdoors at Paul- Bunyan Camp. A donation will be sent to help pay the cost of operating the church's hospitality tent at the ploughing match. Arc Industries will also receive a donation. Assistance in the form of a loan will be given to the Board of Stewards to help them put a new roof on the church. Dianne Kirton and Bonnie Roy volunteered to supervise the sports for the church picnic on July 30, Announcements were made of a shower for Cheryl Peck and the One Day School for Women on August 22. Talk about - calf judging By DAVID ERB The Zurich 4-H Calf Club meeting was held at Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs recently. It was opened by. the President, Caroline Rasenburg, leading the 4-H Pledge. Roll call was taken and the minutes of the last meeting were read. Discussion on the judging competition lasted about one hour and everyone planned to attend. The next meeting will be held at Mr. and Mrs. William Steckle and we plan to do 2 quizes and judge 4 dairy cows. The meeting closed with the 4-H Pledge and lunch was served.
