opened the meeting with
prayer. Mrs. Gelirnas gave a
very interesting report
about the annual convention
that was held May 9-10 in
London at Brescia Hall. It
was reported that 15
members attended a
Fellowship Social at United
Church. Evening was en-
joyed by all.
Group leaders were
organized and memberships
handed in. Confirmation is
being held in Mount Carmel
for our Grade 8 students.
Cecilia Smith and Marie
Denomme provided enter-
tainment.
Grade 7 and 8 students
were asked to write
an essay
about Canadian unity. Three
were picked and were asked
to read them. Our winners
were Beth Gelinas, Annette
Blom and Mary -Ellen
Ducharme.
They were presented with
a gift of money for their ef-
forts. Lunch was then serv-
ed. Door prize won by Patsy
Meidinger.

Miss Patricia (Pat)
Bender, bride of May 27 was
honored on several oc-
casions prior to her wed-
ding.
Her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Bender held Open
House for relatives,
neighbours and friends.
Diane Richardson, niece of
the bride, was in charge of
the guest book. Receiving
guests with Pat were her
mother and mother of the
groom Mrs. Don Watson.
Showing trousseau, gifts
and serving were Elizabeth
Bender, Mary Anne Bender
and Phyllis Bender.
Pat was also guest of
honor at four miscellaneous
showers. Elizabeth Bender,
Crediton, niece of the bride,
was hostess for relatives'
and friends of the bride.
Mrs. Don Bender was
hostess at her home for
cousins of the bride.
Susan Dunn was hostess at
her parents' home, Mr. and
Mrs. Ivan Grigg for girl
friends of the bride.
Mrs. Ralph Weber, Mrs.
Jessie Rader and Mrs. Don
Gaiser were hostesses at the
United Church for neighbors
and members of the U.C.W.
Pat very graciously thanked
everyone for the lovely gifts.

weekend with Mr. and Mrs,
Bell Chandler.
Mrs. Ervin Eckstein has
returned home following eye
surgery in Victoria Hospital.
