. Guest preacher
Guest preacher at the
Hensall United Church's
130th Anniversary on Sunday
was Rev. L.T.C. Harbour,
Executive Secretary of
London Conference. In that
capacity, he brought
greetings from' both the
London Conference and the
General Council of the
United Church of Canada.
Preaching on, "The strong
and the resolute" he spoke of
the followers of Christ who
start off on the Christian life
and then let other things take
precedence.
Adding to the uplift of the
service was the beautiful
contributions of the Huronia
Singers under the direction
of Mrs. Marianne McCaf-
frey. Their numbers in-
cluded, "This land is your
land," "The impossible
dream," "Climb every
mountain" and a lovely
choral response sung after
the benediction. Pianist for.
the songs was Mrs. Julie
Easterbrook.. Dr. Ralph
Topp also contributed a
prelude to the service,
playing "Sonata for piano by
Beethoven, opus 14, number
one, and was at the organ for
the service.
Following the service, a
social hour was enjoyed by
the congregation, giving
them a chance to meet Rev.
Harbour personally.
On Saturday,an auctionsale
will be held at the church to
reduce the Manse im-
provement loan. On Sunday,
Confirmation and Holy
Communion will be observed
and the spring bale will be
packed on June 6.

Golden
Glimpses
Now that the long awaited
warm weather has arrived,
many of our residents are
able to sit out on the patio
and enjoy the sun and fresh
air. Residents who were out
visiting during the week
were Mrs. Beatrice
Overholt, Mrs. Adeline
Kraft, Mrs. Mabel
Gossman, Mrs. Jenny
Davis, Mrs. Alma Southcott
and Mrs. Mary Sturley.
We regret that Miss Susan
Hartman is a patient in
South Huron Hospital.
On Wednesday evening,
Mrs. Dorothy Stade and
some of her pupils presented
a variety programme in the
dining room. The
programme consisted of
family groups who played
the guitar, ukulele, piano and
organ. There were also
vocal and step dancing
numbers. We appreciate the
efforts of Mrs. Stade and all
who participated in the
programme for making the
evening such an enjoyable
one.
On Friday evening bingo
was played followed by
refreshments.
We welcome Mr. Khattar
J. Khattar formerly of
Windsor to the Home. The
Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. ,
John Wareham, retired
United Church minister of
Exeter. Miss Viola Cadger
presided at the organ and
the singing was led by Mrs.
Wareham.

game by one run. Oh well, there's always tomorrow
(and the day after).
I had the chance this past weekend to engage in
another stick and ball game that goes by the name
of golf. As any golfer can attest too, there are
thousands of different flight patterns which the lit-
tle white round object can choose. If you're lucky,
the good flight patterns will outnumber the bad
ones.
Why is it on certain holes, the little white round
object will scurry for the cover of the nearest
forest or open field and on other parts of the course,
seek the cooling waters of a stream?
Why on the putting green, will the little white
round object attempt to find all the worm castings
so as to send it off its intended course?
"Seek and ye shall find" is an old saying but if
any of you can find a little white round object that
is lacking in any of the above idiosyncrasies, let me
know.
