AMILEA SCHROEDER
Mrs. Amilea Louise
(Bender) Schroeder, passed
away at the Blue Water Rest
Home, Zurich Tuesday, May
2, 1978 in her 96th year. She
was the wife of the late
Solomon Schroeder and
spent most of her life in this
area.
Surviving is one son
Edward Herbert Schroeder,
RR 2, Hensall, four
grandchildren and four
great grandchildren. Five
brothers and one sister
predeceased.
Funeral service was held
from the Westlake Funeral
Home, Zurich, Friday, May
5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. A.C.
Blackwell officiating. Inter-
ment in St. Peter's Lutheran
Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Ron
Schroeder, Ken Schroeder,
George Sweeney, Lee Des-
jardine, Ellwood Storey and
Lloyd Storey. Flower
bearers were Carl Bender,
Ray Bender, Bill Stephenson
and JackBoaden.

Many of the spring flowers
are backward this year,
however after having a little
shower, our tulips are
beginning to open up
bringing some colour to our
grounds.
The sympathy of residents
and staff is extended to the
family of the late Mrs.
Amelia Schroeder.
Mr. William Decker is a
patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
The Ladies auxiliary held
their regular monthly
meeting on Tuesday evening
in the dining room. The
programme consisted of
violin selections by little
Miss Heather Westlake and
brother Kim of Zurich. Mr.
Joseph Boland also favoured
with several violin numbers
accompanied on the piano by
Mr. Alfred Denomme.
During the programme,
Mrs. Martha Blackwell was
honoured with a gift in
recognition of her work in
the Auxiliary since its in-
ception eleven years ago,
prior to moving from the
area. Reverend Andrew
Blackwell will also be
missed by the home for the
many services he per-
formed, one of many being
the arrangement of the
weekly chapel service from
year to,year. We wish them
many happy years in their
retirement.
The Auxiliary presented
their first constitution after
many months of planning
and consideration.
This Saturday, May 13
from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the
annual .Mother's Day Tea
and Bake Sale will be held.

Gingerich led the singing.

The Zurich Calf Club held
its second meeting at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. Jim
Love on Thursday.
President Caroline
Rasenburg opened the
meeting and was joined by
the rest of the members,
saying the 4-H Pledge. The
minutes of the last meeting
were read.
Our leader, Mr. Rasen-
burg gave out the dairy and
beef quiz . When we had
completed the quiz we had a
discussion on calf care and
our record books. We
discussed the Judging
Competition at Seaforth on
May 27.
Our .next meeting is at Mr.
& Mrs. John Jacobs on May
25.
