basement of the church with
38 ladies present. The losers
supplied a delicious pot luck
supper and an enjoyable
evening was had by all.
A short business meeting
was conducted by president
Jean Dunn.
The winners then provided
a program and the en-
tertainment.
Kathleen Siertsema led the
devotions with Marilyn Haw
assisting followed by the
singing of "Jesus Christ is
Risen To -Day".
Phyllis Campbell read a
poem "Signs of Spring" as
did Esther Makins favouring
with "Get Someone Else".
Carol Penhale then
presented gifts to people for
various reasons such as the
most pennies the most
children etc.
A most amusing poem was
read by Doris Reddoch
called "A Mile and a Half
from Church." She also
thanked the "Greens" for a
delicious supper and a
special thanks to her friends
for the goodies, cards,.
flowers and tarts sent to she
and Mr. Reddoch. She then
presented a lovely clock to
the ladies of the U.C.W. for
the kitchen.
During the business it was
decided to hold their Bake
Sale on May 20 at 11 a.m. on
the lawn at the house of Ruth
Makins. House cleaning of
the church is April 10 at 9
display and tickets for it will
be on sale for 3 for a dollar.

Reverend William Bennett
officiated at Sung Mattins in
Trinity Anglican Church
Sunday morning. Andrew
Erickson assisted as server.
Morgan Smith read the
lesson from St. Luke, which
told of the appearance of
Jesus to the two diciples on
the way to Emmaus.
Dr. Grosvenor Shepherd
and Morgan Smith acted .as
sidesmen and Jeanne
Bennett, Cindy Cluff and
Dawn Merner taught Sunday
School.
Sunday next which is
called "Good Shepherd
Sunday" will be the
celebration of Holy Com-
munion at both 8 a.m. and 10
a.m. services.
Memorial flowers were
given in memory of Fred
Hudie by his wife Margaret
and family.
Personals
Miss Grace Duggan 'spent
three months with relatives
in Mississauga and has now
returned to her home in the
Village.
Reverend A.F. and Mrs.
Jewell of Kingsville visited
the formers sister Mrs. Lulu
Smith on Thursday. Mr.
Ward Jewell was also a guest
in the same home.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Scotchmer have returned to
a.m. A beautiful quilt was on .their home after spending

Black, Dundalk visited
Wednesday at the home of
Mrs. Nina Haw.
Mr. and Mrs. Clair Merner
have returned home to.
Bayfield after visiting their
families in California,
Washington and Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Nediger
have returned to the Clan
Gregor Apartments after
spending a winter vacation
in Florida. -
Others in the village who.
have returned after enjoying
a holiday in the south are Mr.
and Mrs. Gladwin Westlake,
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Greer,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Porter
and Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Argyle.
Easter guests at the home
of Mrs. Susie Pollock,
Goshen Line were her
family, Mr. and Mrs. Doug
Curran, Christina and
Barbara, Willovvdale and
Mr. and Mes. Ken Pollock,
Jim and Jane of Hensall.
.Dennis Florian of Clinton
visited for the weekend with
his aunt Mrs. Berthena
Hammond.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hovey
returned Wednesday from a
lovely three week vacation in
Florida. Most . of their
holiday was spent with a
former Bayfield business
person, Margaret Mack- at
her home at Davis Island.
The couple experienced
grand weather and Ernie
managed a couple of days
golfing.
Easter week guests with
Mrs. Gilbert Knight were
members of her family, Mr.
and Mrs. Art Latimer and
Christine, Weston. Good
Friday, Mr. Kevin Reid
visited Christine. Bill and'
Ruth Latimer of Weston
spent ten days during the
holidays and Gilbert and
Helen Latimer of Weston
also were her guests for ten
days. During the past
weekend her son Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Knight, and
Kathrine of Leaside visited
her .
Mr. Norma Stewart,
Ripley and her sister Mrs.
Milvena Erickson visited
friends for a couple of days
in Port Huron, Michigan.
St. Andrew's U.C.W. ladies
are kept busy attending their
Hobo Teas in aid of Church
work and from all accounts
are enjoying their visiting
and chat over the tea cups.
