April registration for soccer
With :the first arrivals of
spring, namely, the crows,
robins and kildeer, the sur-
est sign was Anna Gale's
arrival on Good Friday

mind the boys aged eight to
ten years, that it's time
'again to register for another
soccer season. She will be at
the arena on Saturday, April
1 and Saturday, April 8 from
10 in the morning until 12
noon. Along with the $6.50
registration fee, the boys
are reminded to bring along
a photograph and also their
birth certificate or proof of
age ie. •a Baptismal cer-
tificate.Bayfield will not be
operating a Club for boys 10
to 14 years this season
however, the Goderich
Soccer Club has offered to
take any boys in that age
group wishing to play. Any
inquiries should be directed
to the Bayfield coach, Fred
Gale at 482-9380. This year
Andrew Couper will be
assisting Fred, who also is
coaching a team at
Vanastra.
Foster child letter day
Trinity Church Ladies
Guild met in the Parish
Hall, Tuesday afternoon
with president Lorna
Merner presiding. The
meeting opened with the
repeating of the Creed and
the Lord's Prayer in unison.
There were 12 members
answering the roll call.
Margaret Larson read the
scripture for the 5th Sunday
in Lent, followed by a poem
entitled "There's Always a
Springtime" read by Fern
Baker.

The president read an in-
teresting letter from the
Guild's foster child in India
and also .gave the
treasurer's report. Ruby
Fitzsimons reported on
cards and flowers sent out to
the sick and shut-ins.
Plans were finalized for
their Pot -luck supper on
April 11 and several ideas
were exchanged regarding
the Christmas Bazaar and
Bake Sale.

home after being confined in
Goderich General Hospital.

and Angela, Londesborough
spent Wednesday and Thurs-
day with her aunt, Mrs.

Scotchmer, Robert, Lori and
Carolyn, Chatham spent the
spring break at their home
in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Dinell,
Tracey and Erin, London
were Easter weekend guests
with her mother, Mrs.
Maude Weston.
Lennie and Julie Healy,
Egmondville were guests
for a few days during the
Easter break with John
Garrett. John returned with
them for a few days stay at
their home.
Mrs. John Graham,
Wallacetownvisited her son
and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Pat Graham, John and Nan-
cy from Friday until Mon-
day. Little Miss Libby
Sutherland of Woodstock, a
great niece of Mrs. Pat
Graham was also a guest of
the family for her spring
break from school.
Mr. H.H. Ormond of
Detroit motored to Bayfield
recently and visited with
former neighbours and
friends.
Lieutenant Col. Dave Bat-
tye and son Blair of Boston
spent a few days at the home
of Mrs. Jessie Blair.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Hutchings accompanied the
formers sister and husband, -`
Mr. and Mrs. J. Moore on an .
enjoyable vacation in
Arizona. They have now
returned home.
Mrs. William Vrieze and
Billie of Oakville, spent a
few days with Mr. and Mrs.
Dalton Smith during Easter
vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mackie
and Stephen, London visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Makins. Stephen remained
for a longer visit . with his
grandparents during the
school holiday.
Mrs. Mary Weston's
Bayfield friends will be
sorry to learn, she is a
patient in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter. Best
wishes are extended to her.
Also to Mr. Emmerson
Heard who is presently con-
fined in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. Your
friends and relatives wish
you a speedy recovery.
