Everyone curled two games which brought Bayfield by Milvena Erickson them to the finals. Four teams played an extra game. The winners of the "A" group were George Telford, skip: Madelon Mcllwain. vice: Scotty MacVeen. second; Karen Talbot, lead. Winners in "B" group were Alice Brandon, skip; Grant Turner, vice: Joyce Mcllwain. second; Robert Mair. lead. Winning team for the year was Gerry Uniac. skip; Barb Telford, vice; Sue May. second and Mary Pounder, lead. The ladies of the Vanastra Curling club served a delicious dinner which was enjoyed by all after which they held a meeting to decide next year's ex- ecutive. They are as follows; president, Madelon Mcllwain; secretary - treasurer, Sue May. Joe Brandon, Scotty MacVean, George Telford, Bob Orr and Roy Telford were elected as advisors. The group have enjoyed this curling season with 32 regular curlers as well as the spares. for which they are really thankful.} Everyone has been excep- tionally cooperative thanks to Vanastra for making the curling possible. It meant a lot of extra time and work for them and Bayfield Curl- ing Club are most ap- preciative of it all. Successful dance From all reports, the Lioness sponsored St. Patrick's Dance in the com- munity centre on Friday evening was a good time and quite a success. The Music Makers, a five piece live orchestra, played some traditional Irish music and many other varied selec- tions. Friday evening from 8 to 12 on the 31st of March the Lioness will sponsor another Teen and Pre -Teen Dance in the community centre. Music will be provided by a Disc Jockey. Son baptised Michael Anthony, infant son of Gary and Rhea (Sturgeon) Potter was bap- tised by Rev. William M. Bennett at Trinity Anglican Church, Sunday afternoon. Godparents for Michael were his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F. Sturgeon of Orangeville. Following the ceremony, a smorgasbord dinner was held at the home of the baby's maternal grand- parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon. Others atten- ding included Michael's lit- tle sister Merry Nicole; un- cle and aunt, Bud and Bar- bara Sturgeon and uncle An- drew, Bayfield; and mater- nal great grandmother. Mrs. Violet Sturgeon, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Potter and aunt. Tracey, Clinton. and cousins, Jeff and Tollie Sturgeon of Orangeville. Bean supper Saturday evening at 5 pm the Annual Bean Supper will be held in the basement of the Church and on Tuesday the U.C.W. will hold their Winners Dinner at 6:30 pm. The Reds who are the winners this year will provide the entertainment and the Greens as loosers provide the meal. Enjoy outing. Scouts, Cubs and Brow- nies thoroughly enjoyed their outing to London on Saturday afternoon to see Ice Capades. The Brownies, their Mothers and guests travelled by Murphy Bus and the Cubs and Scouts in private cars. Everyone reported a wonderful performance es- pecially geared to the children that afternoon as the Gardens was filled to capacity with mainly Scouts. Cubs, Beavers, Guides, and Brownies from all over the area. The per- formers particularly thrill- ed the children seated in the front row when they skated over and shook hands with them. The leaders say a special thanks to those who drove their cars and to the driver of the bus who was "just the greatest". Good Friday Good Friday Service of worship in St. Andrews United Church will be held at 7:30 p.m. when the sacra- ment of the Lords Supper will be observed. Easter Sunday morning a Sunrise Service will take place on the back lawn of the Manse at 6:30 am. followed by breakfast at the church. Regular worship service will be held Easter Sunday at 11:00 am. in the Church. Donate $1,800 A cheque in the amount of $1,800 was donated by Gerry Uniac on behalf of the Bayfield Curling Club to Gordon Graham, treasurer of the Bayfield Arena Fund. Smith on Sunday, Mrs. Myrtle Pease and Ir- vine. London were at their home in the Village for the weekend. Miss Sally Bennett. Lon- don, spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Rev. William and Mrs. Bennett. Mr. Norm Brown, London was at his cottage for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sin- namon returned home Satur- day night after spending a two week holiday in Florida. While there they visited Disneyland, Cape Kennedy, Parrot Island, Miami Beach and attended. the Greyhound Races. They also spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs, Herb Beatty in Fort Myers and three days with Jim and Lorraine Fisher in Venice. They reported two weeks of good weather Easter Monday on TV's "Man Alive" Dugald MacLean, baby son of Rev. Paul arid Sally Beth (Hunter ) MacLean of Toron- to will be making his debut on television. Also starring in the same production will be Dugald's brother and sister. Conan and Avery. Proud grandparents of the children are Dr. Rob and Doris Hunter of the village.
