Hensall vehicles involved in crashes
Three minor injuries were
reported in the six accidents
investigated this week by the
Exeter OPP detachment.
A Hensall woman, Laurina
Fink, sustained cuts and
bruises when a car in which
she was a passenger was
involved in an accident
Tuesday morning just north
of the village limits on High-
way 4.
Drivers involved in the
collision were John
McDougall, RR 1 Hensall,
and Ray McKinnon, Hensall.
Constable Don Mason
investigated and listed total
damage at $2,000.
The other two injuries
were the result of a collision
on Sunday south of Hensall
on Highway 4. Drivers in-
volved were Mark Bellinger,
RR 3 Goderich, and Richard
Squire, London. An unknown
third vehicle was also in-
volved.
Minimal injuries were.
sustained by Squire and a
passenger in the Bellinger
vehicle, Frederick
Shoemaker, RR 4 Goderich.
Damage was set at $2,500
by Constable Jim Rogers.
In another accident on
Sunday, vehicles driven by
Herb Stretton, Hensall, and
Ervine Willert, RR 2 Hen-
sall, collided at the in-
tersection of Richmond and
Nelson St. in Hensall.
Constable Jack Straughan
investigated and set total
damage to the vehicles at
$1,500.
A vehicle driven by Jens
H. Rostad, Levack, hit a
snowbank on Highway 21
north of St. Josephs on
Sunday, with resulting

Mushroom Quiche
250 mL grated Swiss cheese
(about 100 g)
15 mL flour
3 mL dry mustard
1 chilled, unbaked 23 cm pie
shell
500 mL sliced mushrooms
(about 200 g)
15 mL butter
4 beaten eggs
375 mL milk
7 mL salt
1 mL pepper
125 mL grated Swiss cheese
Combine 250 mL cheese,
flour and dry mustard.
Sprinkle in bottom of pie
shell. Saute mushrooms in
butter until lightly browned
(about 5 min.*). Combine
mushrooms with eggs, milk
and seasonings. Pour over
cheese mixture. Top with
125 mL cheese. Bake 15 min.
at 200°C; reduce heat to
160°C and continue baking 15
min. Let stand 5 to 10 min.
before serving. 6 servings.

The other Friday accident
occurred on Highway 4 at the
Mount Carmel Road in-
tersection and involved
vehicles operated by George
Silver, RR 1 Arkona, and
Donald Mercer, Lucan.
Damage was estimated at
$1,050 by Constable Bob
Whiteford.

She'll be working in a Ministry of the
Environment lab. Her job is provided
through one of eight programs developed
to give work experience to high school
and post -secondary students as well as to
young people who have finished their
education. Here's how the programs work:
Ontario Youth Employment Program
provides a subsidy of $1.25 per hour to
encourage additional summer youth -em-
ployment by the business and farming
communities. This program is operated
by the Ministry of the Treasury,
Subsidies Branch.
Ontario Career Action Program is a year-
round program which gives career
training and practical work experience to
unemployed young people for up to a
26 -week period. Participants are placed
as trainees in the private sector and with
various Ontario Government ministries.
This program is administered by the
Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

Experience '78 hires young people to
work for the summer in various Ontario
ministries.The jobs are designed to
complement the student's academic and
career goals. It's co-ordinated by the
Ontario Youth Secretariat.
1978 Ontario -Quebec Summer Student
Job Exchange Program places Ontario
students in various Quebec Government
ministries and agencies while Quebec
students are placed with Ontario
Government ministries and agencies. The
program gives students the opportunity
of increasing their knowledge of a second
language and of experiencing the
culture of the host province. It's operated
through the Civil Service Commission.
Junior Forest Ranger Program gives
Ontario students who are 17 years old a
chance to gain practical experience in
the management of our natural resources.
It's administered by the Ministry of
Natural Resources.
Junior Conservationist AwardProgram
hires students nominated through con-
servation -minded organizations to work
in resource management. It's operated
by the Ministry of Natural Resources,
Conservation Authorities Branch.
Junior Agriculturalist Farm Program
employs students who reside in the city
to live and work on farms during the
summer. It's administered by the Ministry
of Agriculture and Food.
Youth Care for Senior Citizens gives
municipalities the opportunity to hire
young people to provide at-home services
for elderly and handicapped adults.This
program is co-ordinated by the Ministry
of Community and Social Services.
The young people who work under
these programs and those who will work
as summer replacements for regular
ministry staff will benefit from their ex-
periences. All of us in Ontario will benefit
from the work they do.

to help Ontario's youth work.
