SKINNER SAVES — One of the key ingredients in Hensall's 8-5 win over Zurich Sunday, was
the work of goaltender Laurie Skinner. In this picture, Skinner made a diving save off of a
Zurich player. Also in the picture are unidentified Hensall player and Wayne Corbett.

4-H club
meet
By SYLVIA NEEB
The first meeting of the
Zurich two 4-11 club was held
on Wednesday, February 15,
1978 at the home of our
leader Mrs. Sch-
wartzentruber. Our business
involved the election of of-
ficers who are as follows:
president -Grace Schwart- •
zentruber, secretary -Judy
Morrison, treasurer -Marg
Deichert, press reporter
Sylvia Neeb. The discussion
included the meaning of the
four H's that are mentioned
in our pledge, Choosing a
name is always difficult but
we finally decided on "The
Fit Frauleins".
We were honoured by a
visit from . our Home
Economist, Miss Grace Bird.
She told us about the crafts
we can make in this project
and also gave us an idea'
about the future projects.
The meeting adjourned at 9:
p.m. at which time a small
lunch was served.
4-Her's show interest in
politics
The fourth meeting of The
Fit Frauleins was held on
Saturday February 25, at the
Zurich Public School. We
were pleased with a visit
from Robert E. McKinley
who gave a talk on the House
of Commons. Mr. McKinley
is a member of the Federal
Government and has held
different positions
throughout his term.
After his speech, he was
presented with a gift on
behalf of the 4-H members
and then he joined us for a
small lunch.
Quitters galore
Quilting can be a lot of fun.
This is what we learned at
the second meeting of Zurich
Two. The meeting was held
at the home of 'Mrs. Sch-
wartzentruber on March 1,
1978.
Mrs. Schwartzentruber
explained to us what quilting
is and then she demonstrated
how to piece a quilt. Each of
the girls were then allowed
to work on a sample of their
own.
Home safe home
The topic of our sixth
meeting was safety in the
home. Mr. Robichaud was
our guest speaker and he
talked about fire safety.
There are many ways to
prevent fire and he did his
best to explain some of them.
He brought a couple of
smoke detectors with him
and demonstrated how they
work. Personally, I agree
with him that every house
should have one because it is
a great warning device that
could save our lives.
Mr. Robichaud was
presented with a gift as a
token of our thanks and was
invited to stay for lunch.
