The occasion was the ob- servance of Scouting week and also the dedication of a new Brownie Flag. Leigh Anne Taman presented the Brownie Flag to Rev. William M. Bennett for the Blessing of the Flag and Brown Owl Eleanor Ritchie read the lesson from Joshua, where Joshua is ordered to cross the River Jordan. Tanya Grillmeyer and Melanie Van Patter, assisted by Harry Baker and Philip Du Boulay collected the offering. The Rector assisted at the altar by Server Andrew Erickson and Miss Cindy Cluff taught the Sunday schoolers. The Rector, in his sermon addressed the young ladies attending along with their two Tawny Owls, Charlene Porter and Ruth Anne Knights and expressed his desire that they have minds of their own. Mrs. Eric Luther of Hensall will be the guest speaker at the World Day of Prayer next Friday at 3 p.m. in St. Andrew's United Church. Everyone is invited to attend. Teen dance Last week I erroneously reported that the Teen and Pre -Teen Dance next Friday would start at 9 p.m. and go until 1 p.m. It should have read from 8 p.m. until 12 midnight. The Bayfield Lioness' are sponsoring this dance for the young, people and would like to extend the invitation to all young people. The cost is two dollars per person with pop and chips available. Guild meets Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. the Ladies Guild of Trinity Anglican Church were guests at the home of Ruby Fitzsimons for their monthly meeting. There were 18 members and one guest, Elsie John- ston present. President, Lorna Merner occupied the chair. Mrs. Fitzsimons read the scrip- ture from second Corin- thians and Clara Wilson read an appropriate poem Personals Mr; & Mrs. • Howard Scotchmer, Robert, Lori and Carolyn of Chatham were at their home in the Village for the weekend. Mrs. Donna Boyes and Mr. Jack Ruston of Port Colborne, spent the weekend as the guests of Mr. & Mrs. Donald McLeod and John and also visited her sister, Mrs. Walter Erickson. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Meyer, Michelle and Marsha of Milverton visited Sunday with Mrs. Meyers mother, Mrs. Lena Ervine. Weekend visitors at the Ervine home were Mr. & Mrs. Bill Lowry of Windsor who were at their residence east of the village. Mr. & Mrs. Bernard F. Sturgeon Jeff and Rollie, Orangeville spent Friday at their residence on Louisa St. Best wishes for continued - health to Mrs. Louise Reid who is able to be home from Hospital. The Bayfield fire department have helped to fill the void with two ice surfaces in the community park. Taking advantage of the facilities are Peggy Van Wonderen and Jan Russell. Staff photo Kinettes entertain The Clinton Kinette club entertained their adopted grandmothers at a Valentine Party Tuesday morning in the ground north dining - room. Mrs. Alma Davis and Miss Dora Jackson thanked the Kinettes on behalf of the • Grandmothers. The tables in the Home were arranged and decorated for the Valentine Dinner. During the day the Huronview Orchestra serenaded each of the areas with appropriate music. The Clinton Women's Institute were hostesses on Wednesday afternoon for the February Birthday Party. Mrs. Connie Colclough, president of the Institute, brought greetings and Mrs. Lyla Johnson was EmCee for the programme and provided the piano ac- companiment. Mrs. Homuth sang two vocal numbers and led a sing -a -long. Mrs. Leona Lockhart gave a reading; there were piano solos by Gladys Van Egmond and vocal duets by George Turner and Stanley Johns.
