News from
Huronview
In November, the Cana-
dian Foresters, Western On-
tario Provincial Assembly,
meeting in Goderich
presented to Huronview
funds 'to purchase a
whirlpool bath.
After some delays in in-
stallation, the bath was put
into service on January 16
and, in the short space of
time since then, has proven
to be a boon to the Home.
Residents who, because of
painful arthritic conditions
or extra -sensitive skin,
dreaded a regular bath; find
the whirlpool not only
tolerable but actually plea-
sant. Thebuilt-in lift gives.,
them a real sense of security
and the whirlpool action is
definitely beneficial to
arthritic joints.
The only problem is that
one such bath can not
possibly accommodate all the
residents. Hence, decisions
have to be made as to which
residents would benefit
most from the whirlpool and
such decisions appear ar-
bitrary to some of the
residents not chosen.
Despite this small
problem, management,
staff, and the residents who
get to use it are very pleased
with this excellent piece of
equipment. And it is hoped
that another can be acquired
in the near future to let
more residents have the ob-
vious benefit of this bathing
system.
