McLeod and John. Mr. & Mrs. J. B. Higgins spent from Saturday until Tuesday at Bayfield. by Mllrenn Erickson Christmas time with their son and family, Mr. • & Mrs. W. J. Higgins, Colin and Scott in Port Dover. They were joined by their aunt, Mrs. G. M. Chesney of Toronto and Mrs. Eva Mason of Hamilton, Mrs. Jean Campbell was a Christmas Day guest of her daughter, Carol, and George Simons and family in Goderich. Mrs. Lulu Smith spent Christmas with her son and family, Mr. & Mrs. Ron Smith, Doug and Dave in Goderich. Mrs. Nina Haw was the Christmas Day guest of her brother and sister-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Russel Heard in the village. Mrs. Peg Morely, Cleveland, Ohio is spending some time at her home in the village. She was joined over the holidays by her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Burt of Mississauga. Mrs. Berthena Hammond spent Christmas with her sister, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Florian and Dennis in Clinton. Mrs. Florian and Dennis returned to Bayfield with her for three days returning to their home on Thursday. Mr. & Mrs. Morris Sauve, Johnie and Jamie; Mrs. Jackie Johnston, Ricky, Christine and Mark; Mrs. Maude Weston and Mrs. Myrtle Parker of Huron - view were Christmas guests with Mr, & Mrs. Don Dinel, Tracey and Erin in London. Mrs. Louise Reid, Mrs. Beulah Smith, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Parker, Mr. & Mrs. R. J. Larson were New Years dinner guests of their sister, Mrs. George Reid in Varna. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Turner spent Christmas eve with Mr. & Mrs. Don Sager in Goderich and Christmas Day and Boxing Day with their son-in-law, daughter and grandsons, Mr. & Mrs. Brian King, Matthew and Tim in Blyth. They were the guest of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Philip Turner in Goderich for New Years. Several of our summer cot- tagers spent the holidays in the village and it was nice to see the lights in the homes of Dr. Bill and Anne Tillmann and family of London; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beechie and family, London; Norm Brown, London; Chuck and Jane McFadden of Toronto and Mr. & Mrs. Joe Laudenbach and family of Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Bernard F. Sturgeon, Jeff and Rollie returned to their home in Orangeville after spending the holidays at their village residence and visiting his family, Mr. & Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon and Andrew, Mrs. Violet Sturgeon; Mr. & Mrs. Bud Sturgeon and Mr. & Mrs. Gary Potter, Merry and Michael at RR 3, Clinton. We're Starting The New Year Out With... Dr. Barry and Mrs. de Veber George, Chris, Michelle Gabrielle, Eileen and Barry London were guests for 'severa days during the holiday at Th Albion Hotel. Canon F. H. Paull spen Christmas with friends i Brantford. Mr. & Mrs. Rob Irwin an Robbie, London spent New Year with his family, Mr. & Mrs. E. . W Erickson, Andrew, Luanne an Lydia. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Diemert, Bria and Karen, St. Marys visited Friday with his parents and brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Diemert, Richard and Wayne Mr. & Mrs. Eric Earl were Christmas guests of their daughter, Mr. & Mrs. W. Win stone, Kim and Joe in London and were joined by Mrs. W. Earl for dinner. Mrs. Gilbert Knight spent Christmas with her family, Mr. & Mrs. Art Latimer and Christine in Weston and along with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Latimer also of Weston returned to Bayfield where they were New Years guests of Mrs. Knight returning to their respective homes on Tuesday. Mrs. Jessie Blair and Miss Ethel Blair of Toronto spent three days withher daughter Brenda Blair in New York and then travelled on to Boston where they were the guests of her son-in-law and daughter and grandchildren, Lieut. Col. Dave and Mrs. Battye, Blair and Rene. On Tuesday Misses Ethel and Brenda Blair returned to New York and Blair Battye accompanied his grand- mother home to Bayfield where he is visiting for several days. Mr'. & Mrs. Robert Wilkinson, St. Thomas were the guests of her grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Turner for a few days during the holidays. Mr. Dick Heard returned to his home in Bayfield on Saturday after touring England for the past three weeks. He reported perfect e weather and a most enjoyable t holiday. Stan, Betty and Lisa returned to Bayfield with her n parents on Monday and were overnight guests before returning to their home in North Bay on Tuesday. We regret to report that Mrs. Elva Metcalf is confined to her home after suffering a broken _ ankle. Best wishes are extended to her. Also to her mother, Mrs. David Dewar who is a patient in Clinton Hospital and to Mr. Frank Boyce who is alsoconfined in Clinton- Hospital. Speedy recovery is sent out to them and Leeming heads Huron plowmen William J. Leeming of RR 4 Walton, was re-elected president at the annual meeting of the Huron Plowmen's Association held December 19 at McKillop Township Hall in Winthrop. Other officers elected are: first vice president, Jim Armstrong, RR 4 Wingham: se- cond vice, Girvin Reed, Dungan- non; Sec.-Treas., Russell Bolton, RR 1, Seaforth; Asst. Sec.- Treas., Graeme Craig, RR 1 Walton; OPA director, Jim Armstrong, RR 4, Wingham. The meeting approved a proposal to affiliate with the On- tario Federation of Agriculture.
