Now that the New Year has
been ushered in and all
celebrations over, we will be
getting down to our normal ways
of life,
The staff would like to take this
opportunity to thank the families
who remembered them with
treats over the holiday season
and on behalf of the residents, we
wish to express our gratitude to
the various groups for en-
tertainment during the month of
December. Those who took time
out to entertain the residents
during Christmas week were the
Zurich Mennonite Sunday School
who sang carols, Mr. & Mrs. Eric
Luther who provided music and
distributed Christmas treats, the
Kinsman Club of Hensall who
arranged transportation for
about 35 Senior Citizens from
Hensall to join our residents here
also Mr. Mozart Gelinas' band
who provided music, the Usborne
Public School for their Christmas
music, the Miller sisters of Dash-
wood who provided a musical
programme, The Zurich Public
School for their music and all
other groups that I may have
missed.
January leaves the residents
with rather a let down feeling
after all the commotion of the
holiday season, therefore we
would appreciate having anyone
who wishes to provide an evening
of entertainment, or perhaps
even a visit with the residents
would suffice. The sympathy of
residents and staff is extended LI)
the families of Mrs. Ethel Munn
and Mrs. Alda Simmons, also to
the families of the late Mrs.
Rodney Stewart and Mrs. Otwell
Todd of Maplewoods Apart-
ments.
On Friday evening bingo was
enjoyed followed by refresh-
ments.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Clayton Kuepfer of the Zurich
Mennonite Church. Miss Viola
Cadger presided at the organ
during the service.

The residents appreciated two
duet numbers by Cecil Skinner
and Nelson Lear and Luella Cox
and Elsie Henderson at the
Sunday morning Chapel service.
The ladies of the Clinton
Christian Reformed Church
congregation visited the
residents in their rooms on
Tuesday afternoon and presented
them with a lovely Christian
calendar.
On Family Night the Clinton
Christian Reformed Church
Choir, led by Dick Roorda, en-
tertained with a program of
Christmas music. Mrs. Van Dyke
sang two solos and the choir sang
four numbers. Mrs. Diane
Bruinsma accompanied the
choir and soloist and Mrs. Elsie
Henderson accompanied for a
sing -a -long of Christmas carols.
Mrs. Valkenburg, a member of
the church, expressed the ap-
preciation of the residents. •
Ed Stiles of Goderich played an
hour of organ music in the Chapel
on Thursday afternoon.
