HomeMy WebLinkAboutZurich Citizens News, 1974-12-23, Page 24PAGE 24 ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS MONDAY, DECEMBER 23, 1974 WORKSHOP RECEIVES GIFT - The ARC Industries in Dashwood has received a gift of $2000 to be used for the purchase of new equipment, thanks to a young Forest area youth and the estate of an elderly lady he became quite friendly with. Will Purdy, front, became quite well acquainted with the late Mrs. Selena Upshall, formerly of Arkona, while she was a resident in North Lambton Rest. Hoare, and after the lady passed away her will left the money in his care to be used for the work- shop. Will is shown here presenting the cheque to ARC treasurer Mrs. Anne Klungel, while on the left is Rev. A.C. Blackwell, chairman of the organization, and on the right is Robert Fry, director of the workshop. Students write poetry (Grade V Class) Listen, Listen all you here, Santa's coming soon this year. School is out and we are glad, Though we have been fairly bad. • At the store Santa Greets me, Gently props are on his knee, Though you were not very good, Well, do you thing:I should? Our stockings full, he fills, There's a doll, it is Jills, His job is done so good bye all, Ho! 1Io! Ho! Santa will call, Next Christmas he'll be back, With nice toys in his pack. With their brand new lovely toys. As they wait for Christmas Day, People are bright and gay. * * Christmas novelties, glass ornaments and tinsel deco- rations, from America and abroad, will enjoy great popularity during the 1974 Yuletide season. People are celebrating with more non -electrical decorations, such as orna- ments made from house- hold items, glass decor which reflects the usual home lighting, and candles, homemade or bought.
