UNITED CHURCH SUPPER
The United Church Women
of Calvary United Church held
their Christmas supper for
husbands and friends Tuesday,
December 10, with Mrs. Stuart
Wolfe's group in charge.
Following supper all joined
in a Christmas Sing. Harold
Borden and his two children,
Karen and Harold Jr., of Huron
Park, sang and led in the sing-
ing.
Guest speaker, Joe Baldeo,
London, who is with the Huron
County Health unit spoke on
his native country, Guyana,
discussing the country and
people. A question and answer
period was also held.
LADIES AID
The Christmas and Annual
meeting of Zion Lutheran Lad-
ies Aid was held Wednesday,
December 11, with group I in
charge of Devotions and Christ-
mas lunch.
Twenty-three members were
present and paid their dues and
several donations were receive&
The Altar Guild reported 12
visits and the new Guild is Mrs.
Cathy Keller and Mrs. Ray
Rader. The Ladies Aid will
pack shut-in boxes, Decernber
22, Flowers will be placed on
the altar for Christmas.
All secretaries gave yearly
reports and the convenors gave
reports of the activities of their
groups during the year.
Mrs. Irvin Rader gave the
report of the nominating com-
mittee and she was, elected
CHISELHURST U.C.W.
"We have seen a great light"
was a poem read by the presid-
ent Erla Coleman to open the
Christmas meeting of the Chis-
elhurst U. C. W., which was
held in the churdr on Decemb-
er 10. She also welcomed the
members and several visitors
with Christmas wishes. The
roll call was answered by 19
members stating what their
favourite Christmas carol was.
The treasurer's report was given
by Dorothy Brintnell. There
were several donations given
by the ladies to charitable org-
anizations. Dorothy Parker used
as her theme for the worship
service "No more darkness:
secretary. Other officers were;
past president, Mrs. Jim I•layter,
president, Mrs. Arnold Becker;
secretary, Mrs. Irvin Rader;
treasurer, Mrs. Ray Rader;
pianist, Miss Helen Nadiger;

and flower secretary, Mrs.
Albert Miller; librarians, Mrs.
Reinhold Miller and Mrs. Rud-
olph Miller, and Mrs. Martha
Miller.

Lorne Becker; II Mrs. Charles
Ivlartene; III, Mrs. Hilda Rader;
IV, Mrs. Earl Keller.
A short program followed.
Group II had Susan Baynhanr
sing; Group III, Mrs. Irvin
Rader gave a reading; Group
IV had Christmas Carols. Dur-
ing the lunch hour Mrs. Morgret
was presented gifts of fruit cake
and nuts for her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love and
• Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader att-
ended the 45th wedding anniv-
ersary of Mr. and Mrs. Well -
wood Gill, Saturday, Decemb-
er 14, at Grand Bend.
Chris Martin expresses his
appreciation for the helpful
reminder in last week's Dash-
wood column regarding dogs and
leashes. If his dog could read
this would be most beneficial.
He also thanks the villagers who
made direct approaches to him
regarding problems with his dog,
Mrs. Della Tomlinson return-
