Thirty-six members, three
visitors and Rev. Bruce Guy sat
at tables decorated with lighted
red candles for the regular meet-
ing of Emmanuel United Church
Women, chaired by Mrs. Leroy
O'Brien. A sound -film strip
"Star In the East" was used for
the devotional period.
Mrs. O'Brien presented the
Mission topic, "Our changing
Role in Mission, " using quotes
from Dr. A. C. Forrest which
showed that specialists or exp-
erts in various sciences are the
modern requirements in today's
Mission fields.
The offering was received
and dedicated. Mrs. Delbert
Geiger conducted a Bible quiz,
which was won by Mrs. Menno
Steckle.
The Christmas Story was pres-
ented in pageant form by mem-
bers of the committee, - Mrs.
Greb, narrator; Mrs. Breakey,
Mrs. Rawlings, Mrs. J.W. Mem'
er and Mrs. O'Brien actors.
Christmas Carols were sung,
and Mrs. O'Brien read a poem
"Christmas Wishes."
In the business meeting which
followed, it was decided to give
a donation of $100 to the Miss-
ion and Service Fund of the
Church, and to contribute to the
100th Anniversary project,
"The Big Red Ox."
The president requested ann-
ual reports to be prepared by
December 15. The meetins for
January, February and March
will be held at 2 o'clock in the
afternoon of the regular meeting
day.

gave the residents the opportun-

Eighty-five per cent of laun-

in 1974 will use approximately
290 million pounds of laundry
detergents. It's a big business.
But with more than 40 brands

were Mrs. Mabel Gosstnan,
Miss Pearl Keys, Miss Mary
Ann Steckle, Mrs. Dora Wag -

refreshments were enjoyed.
The residents were very pleas-
ed to have a lovely color T.V.
installed in the west wing sitt-
ing room which was presented
to the Home on behalf of the
Ladies Auxiliary. I am sure
this would be a good time of the
year to express our appreciation
to the members of the Auxiliary
for their assistance and comforts
they provide the residents and
Home with throughout the year.
We would also like to thank
Mrs. Jennetta Finnigan, a res-
ident here, for presenting a
beautiful large mirror for the
use of the ladies in the west
wing.
On Friday afternoon Mrs.
Lenora Turkheim provided the
residents with organ music in
the chapel, also joined her in
singing Christmas carols.
Bingo was enjoyed Friday
