Obituaries
HENRY FUSS
Henry Fuss of Hensall passed
away in South Huron Hospital
on December 4, 1974 in his
83rd year.
Mr. Fuss was bron in Hay
Township and got all his school-
ing in Zurich. He farmed on the
Parr Line, south of Hillsgreen
until 1961 when he and his wife
moved to Hensall and have
resided there since. He was a
member of St, Peters Lutheran
Church, in Zurich.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Elizabeth Cochrane,
one daughter, Margaret, of
Honalula, two sons, William,
of Hensall, James of Alliston,
three sisters, Mrs. Lavina Reichl
ert, Mrs. Henry (Violet) Atkins,
both of R.R,2, Hensall, and
Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Hess,
of Zurich. Two sisters and one
brother predeceased him. Also
surviving are six grandchildren.
Tne funeral service was held
on December 7 from the Bonth-
ron Funeral Chapel, in Hensall
with Pastor A.C. Blackwell
officiating. Interment was in
St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery,
Zurich.
Pallbearers were Ken Adison,
Mac Cameron, Clarence Reich-
ert, Ivan Reichert, Bill Grigg
and Wilmer Adkins.
EARL R. SOLDAN
A former Hensall resident,
Earl R. Soldan passed away at
Tiverton on Sunday, December
8, in his 43rd year.
Surviving besides his wife,
the former Gloria Smith, are
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will-
iam Soldan, Hensall; one son,
Robert, two daughters, Karen
and Kathy; one brother, Bill,
of Hensall; and two sisters, Mrs.
John (Ruth) Hendrick, of Mt.
Forest, and Mrs. Robert (Jean)
Phillips, of Toronto.
The body rested at the Bonth-
ron Funeral Chapel, Hensall,
where a private service was
held on Wednesday, December
11, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Don
Beck officiating. Interment was
in the Exeter Cemetery.

ROBERT CLOTHIER
Not every villain on television has a kind side. But Relic, of CBC
television's Beachcombers series, seen each Sunday at 7 p.m.,
definitely has one, even though he doesn't know what to do
with it most of the time. Relic, played by veteran Vancouver
actor Robert Clothier, lives in an old, broken-down houseboat
in Gibsons, B.C., where he does his own cooking and washing,
the latter not very often.

Greetings
To All

izations in the County.
Refreshments were served in
the craft room during the after-
noon by the auxiliary.
The residents enjoyed their
first Christmas program of the
season on Wednesday afternoon
at the December birthday party.
The Walton Women's Institute
were hosts for the occasion and
following the program gifts were
presented to the celebrants with
decorated cup cakes and tea
served to 150 residents and guests
Mrs. Neil McGavin was emcee
for the afternoon and led a sing -
a -long of Christmas music.
Mrs. Einmerson Mitchell, Mrs.
Harold McCallum and Mrs.
Humphries played several inst-
rumental numbers; vocal duets
by Mrs. Herb Traviss and Mrs.
McGavin, a reading by Mrs.
Frank Kirkby and a Christmas
Story narrated by Mrs. Harvey
Craig.
Miss Turner, who is celebrat-
ing her ninety-eighth birthday
in December, thanked the inst-
itute for the fine entertainment
and party on behalf of the resi-
dents.
The senior and junior rythm
bands from the Goderich Psych-
iatric Hospital entertained with
a Christmas concert on "Family
Night." Mr. Gordon Harrison
of C-oderich leads and plays
the piano accompaniment for
the bands and Eric Munro was
emcee for the program.
The residents enjoyed the bang
numbers, the violin and mouth
organ. duets, merimbo solos,
vocal solos, duets and a quartet.
Miss Sarah Carter thanked the
entertainers.
We would be happy to hear
from any of the groups who will
be Carol Singing in the area as
this has always been greatly
appreciated by the residents.
South Huron WI
The South Huron District
Women's Institute executive
meeting was held on Tuesday,
December 3, at the Hensall
Town Hall, with Mrs. James
Keys, of Seaforth, as the resid-
ing president. Secretary -treas-
urer, Mrs. Gordon Elliott, of
Seaforth, opened the meeting
with the Ode, Mary Stewart
Collect. Roll call followed by
reading of the minutes and the
financial statement.
Mrs. Keyes gave a report of
the London Area Convention
held in Stratford, November 27
and 28. Nutrition, You Are
What You Eat, was the theme,
a recent survey taken by nutrit-
ion experts shows 507/o of the
population is overweight.
Mrs. Gordon Papple, provinc-
ial board member-Seaforth
gave a report of a new slate
of officers for the London area.
The Dashwood branch is to be
host for the annual meeting in
May, 1975. Mrs. Payne, Hen-
sall gave a report of officers
conference in Guelph.
