MRS. JOYCE PEPPER, CORRESPONDENT'
In the recent convocation
ceremonies held at the.Univ-
ersity of Western bntario, Mrs.
B.J. Turner of Hensall gradu-
ated with her Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the Faculty of
Social Science. In attendance
at the ceremony were her
daughters Tammy and Tracey,
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Lavender, and Pat
Rowe, all of Hensall.
Mr. and Mrs. John Solden
attended Fall Convocation at
the University of Western Ont-
ario on Saturday when their son
Patrick received his Bachelor
of Arts degree in Social Science
and at a family dinner at the
parental home, were joined
by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Light-
foot, Centralia and Mrs. Doris
Clemas, London.
Dr. and Mrs. Robert Mie1<].e,
London spent Sunday with the
former's mother, Mrs. Laird
Mickle; and Mr. and Mrs.
Brian Collins, Kitchener, also
visited recently.
Rev. Don Beck preached on
the sermon topic "Open the
doors" for the service of
worship in Hensall United
Church Sunday morning,
The choir sang the Anthem
"Holy, Holy, Holy, accomp-
anied on the organ by Mrs.
Turkheim,
Rev. G.A. Anderson cond-
ucted the service at St. Paul's
Anglican Church. The text
of the sermon was "See then
that ye walk circumspectly."
The flowers were place in
memory of the late Mrs. Ter-
ence Lindey. Evening service
will be held November 10, at
7:30 with special music to be
provided.
CHISELHURST UCW MEETING
The Chiselhurst United Churc.
Women held their October
meeting with Mary Cole in
charge of the Thanksgiving
Worship service. She hacl as her
theme "Think and thank."
Mary Brintnell assisted in read-
ing the scripture. Mary then
read a poem entitled "Mother
Shipton's Prophecy." The roll
call was answered by 19 memb-
ers with a continuous reading
of a Bible verse. A thank you
note was read front the family
of the late May McLellan.
The visiting committee for
the following months will be
Dorothy Brintnell and Dorothy
Parker. An executive meeting
was held recently at the home
of Rosa Harris. A quartet con-
sisting of Pearl Taylor, Mary
Brintnell, Dorothy Brintnell and
Mary Cole sang "Amazing
Grace." Dorothy Parker used as
her Bible study thence "Does
God really Love." Hostesses wer
Betty Stoneman and Pearl Tay-
lor.
ARNOLD CIRCLE
The Arnold Circle Evening
.Auxiliary of Carmel Presbyter-
ian Church held their meeting
recently at the home of their
president, Mrs. Marg Baker,
who opened the meeting with a
poem "Things we are thankful
for." Thirty-three visits were
made during the month. Mrs.
Marg Baker and Mrs. Peggy
Volland werein charge of the
worship theme "Why we have
Thanksgiving." Arrangements
were made to have the church
calendars for sale at the Baz-
aar on November 2. The Arn-
old Circle held a very success-
ful bake sale at the Kinette
rummage sale last Friday,
and also will be in cherge of
the Tea Tables at the Church
Bazaar on November 2. Arr-
angements were made to hold
a nursery on a tentative basis
commencing on November 3
when the church service will
be at 11:15
4-H CLUB MEETINGS
Meeting TV of the 4-11 Club
Hensall II group was held at
the Hensall United Church
recently. The meeting opened
with the 4-11 Pledge, and the
roll call was answered. Diff-
erent invitations and replies
were discussed and also the
planning of a "Cowie as you
are" party at the end of the
eighth meeting. Cookies and
cakes baked by the 4-11 memb-
ers were sampled and enjoyed.
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall Helping Homemaking,
Hostesses was held on October
22, at the ilensall United
Church. Nancy McCurdy the
club president called the meet-
ing to order with the pledge.
After the pledge the roll call
which was "an idea for an orig-
inal party game" was answered
by all members. Parry menus
were discussed and after the
discussions pizza was made,
which was enjoyed by all the
girls. The next meeting each
member must bring an idea for
an exhibit for Achievement Day

MRS. MARJORIE LINDEY
At South Huron hospital,
Exeter, on Wednes$ay, Octob-
er 23, 1974, Mrs. Marjorie
(Trench) Lindey, of R,R.1,
Zurich in her 69th year passed •
away.
She was the beloved wife of
Terence A. Lindey, R.R,1,
Zurich, and another of Ter-.
ence A. Jr., Welland; Mrs.
Jacob (Maxine) Peters, R.R.1,
Zurich; Kenneth R., Mississ-
auga; Mrs. John (Sharon)
Martin, Niagara Falls; Mrs.
Gail Levesque, Niagara Falls.
Also survived by one sister
Mrs. R. (Edythe) Young, of
Victoria, B.C. and 11 grand-
children.
The late Mrs. Lindey rested
at the Bonthron Funeral Chapel
in Hensall when funeral service

ober 26, 1974, with Rev. C.
