The regular tweeting of the
St. Paul's Anglican Church
Women was held Thursday
afternoon in the basement of
the church. The president, Mrs
Anderson read the call to wor-
ship and the Litany. The roll
call was answered by a script-
ure "Harvest" verse, keeping
Thanksgiving in mind, Plans
were finalized for the Bazaar,
bake sale and tea which was
held on Saturday and it was
reported to have been a real
success. Mrs. Anderson closed
the meeting with prayer.

R.R.3, Dashwood, collided with
a cattle beast owned by Robert
Pfaff on concession road 6-7

the vehicle was estimated at
$50 by Constable Dale Lamont.
On Saturday at 3:15
a car driven by Debra Shipley,
R.R.2, Grand Bend went out of
control and struck a ditch on
county road 5 west of Greenway.
The driver received bruises.
Damage was estimated at
$1200 by Constable Al Quinn.
On Saturday at 7:45 p. m. a
car driven by Joan ltodgins,
Ailsa Craig collided
with a forage wagon and tractor
driven by Daniel Galloway on
concession road U-7 of Stephen
Township. Damage to both
vehicles was estimated at $2400.

This weel< the Exeter detach-
ment investigated four compl-
aints of wilful damage with a
property damage valued at $425.
Four juveniles have been
charged in connection with the
theft and subsequent damage of
a car which was stolen in Huron
Park. Constable Quinn is the
investigating officer.
Sunday morning in the absence
of Rev. Don Beek, Special
music was provided by the
Pepper girls, Brenda, Marilyn
Laurie and Jo -Ann, They sang
a number accompanied on the
piano by Brenda.
At a Sunday School teachers
meeting last Wednesday even-
ing, it was decided for a trial
period, that Sunday church
sessions would be extended
fifteen minutes to 12:15. This
period starts on October 27.
GIRL GUIDES
Hensall Girl Guides started
another season recently at the
Hensall United Church. Sixt-
een girls were present including
three new girls, Roxanne Lavery
Jo-ann Pepper and Karen
Shiels. The Guides are still in
the process of collecting good
clean baskets in the village.
The baskets are sold to the
Supermarket, and the money
goes to the Girl Guide Comp-
any. Leaders are Mrs. Shirley
Luther and Mrs. Florence Slade.
AMBER REBEKAI1 LODGE
The regular meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge was held
Wednesday evening in the
Lodge rooms with the Noble
Grand, Mrs. Margaret Consitt
presiding, and being assisted
by R.S.V.G. Mrs. Hazel Corb-
ett, in rhe absence of the Vice
Grand, Mrs. Bertha MacGregor.
Correspondence was read conc-
erning a letter received from
one of the tour guides that
accompanied the students to
the United Nations in New York
during the suuuner months expl-
aining that they had a wonder-
ful tour of the buildings and
other places of importance and
how well they were received
by the Rebekah Lodges for prov-
iding meals and accommodat-
ions, at times they were even
billotted in private homes.
It was decided that the Lodge
would entertain Parkhill Emer-
ald Lodge on November 20 at
the regular meeting. Final
plans are to be decided later.
Also decided that each memb-
er is to invite one or two guests
to a social evening of cards on
November 6. Mrs. Maggie
Campbell and Mrs. Leona Parke
volunteered to visit the Queens-
way Nursing Home. Mrs. Marg-

Volland volunteered to canvass
for the CNIB. A number of
members thanked their secret
sisters for cards received on
birthdays and anniversaries.
Mrs. Larid Ivlicklc returned
recently from a three week trip
to the west visiting cousins in
Edmonton and. Vermilion,
Alberta, and Pilot Mound and
Snow Flake, Manitoba,
Mrs. Helen Cooke MacRae
and her son Mr. Donald Mac-
Rae, of Ottawa have been
guests at the home of Mrs, A.
W. Shirray.
Eric Luther advises that
many rural area residents have
not as yet mailed to hint their
donations for the Canadian
National Institute for the Blind
canvass. The campaign will be
open until October 31. Please
forward your generous donations
to make the canvass a real suc-
cess.
