The subject matter was about Entertaining at a Tea. Martha read about an informal tea which is a sit clown affair where small tables are placed by each chair. Linda read about a formal tea which is a stand-up affair so finger foods are best. • Linda and Martha demonstrat• ed closed, open, rolled, ribbon and checkerboard sandwiches. We all made sandwiches and after sat down to a tea served by Mary Anne and Elizabeth. We talked about Achievement Day and a Hallowe'en Party we are planning for October 26. 0 About people you know Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Sween- ey had company from Leaming- ton and St. Marys over the Thanksgiving weekend. "In everything give thanks." 1st Thessalonians 5:18 Everyone Welcome be quite a challenge CO any artist. Last Monday evning films were shown, "Wings to Italy" and "Africa -Living in Two Worlds." Refreshments were enjoyed following the films. On Tuesday morning, Mr. Lawrence Wein joined the res- idents in the dining -room for a sing -song. Some of the residents enjoyed a bus tour through Southcott Pines on Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed the scenery. The regular monthly birth- day party was sponsored by the Ladies of the Bayfield United Church on Wednesday evening. Some of the Sunday School girls began the program by sing- ing sacred and modem musical numbers. Miss Ann Haw favour- ed with a tap dance number and Miss Carol Pinhale recited a Thanksgiving poem. Miss Lorie Taman favoured with a solo and Miss Wendy Penhale gave a Thanksgiving prayer. Miss Mol- lie Cox was the pianist for the evening and accompanied the girls who sang "Its a small World; Knock, Knock, and Mummy Told Me Something." Mrs. Al na Southcott was the only resident celebrating a birthday during the month of October and was a recipient of a gift, compliments of the Ladies Auxiliary. Following the program, a delicious lunch was served. Friday evening was the reg- ular bingo night which was fol- lowed by refreshments. The Sunday evening Chapel service was conducted by Rev. A.C. Everyone Welcome tenimminionoinnommou St. Boniface CWL donate funds to various causes (by Mrs. Jerome Sweeney) For the October meeting we held the ceremony of the "Liv- ing Rosary, " it was led by Father Durand and the Sisters. We opened the meeting with a hymn and our league prayer. There were 51 members and five visitors that stayed for the meeting. There were two ladies that went to Kitchener for the ann- ual dinner and meeting for the March of Dimes, They are in charge of this area. Last Thursday, October 10, Bishop Sherlock administered the Sacrament of Confirmation in our parish. We sent half of our profit from the Bean Festival to Broth- er Bob, and the other half was given to Father Durand for use in the church, We also donated $10,00 to the CNIB. Mrs. Adella Regier's commit- tee served the lunch, and Mrs. Mary McKinnon won the door prize. Barfield (continued from page 1) In other business, council supported a. resolution from the village of Zurich regarding additional grants when munic- ipalities are forced to update their recreational facilities.
