Rev. Don Beck preached on
the sermon topic "Incog`nito"
for the service of worship in
Hensall United Church Sunday
morning. The choir sang the
anthem "Great is they faithful-
ness." After the service, the
choir presented a wedding gift
to Wayne Payne and Iris Alex-
ander for their upcoming wedd-
ing this Saturday. President Don
Travers presented the gift on
behalf of the choir and everyone
offered best wishes to which
Wayne and Iris replied fittingly.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bell of
Seattle visited recently with
his sisters, Mrs. Vera Brintnell
of Hensall and Mrs. Ethel
Drover, of Exeter, also other
relatives and friends in the
community, and nieces and
nephews in London.
Mrs. Carl Payne has return-
ed home from Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital where she has
been a patient for the past week
Miss Muriel Haman, of Surrey
England is visiting with her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Payne.
RALLY DAY
Rev. Wilfred Jarvis conduct-
ed service in Carmel Presbyt-
erian Church recently when the
Rally Day of the Sabbath School
was held. The following seals
and diplomas were presented;

Reid, Second year seals,
Tammie Bell, Ronlynn Bell;
third year seal, Jerry Faber;
fourth year seal; Jeanette Hog-
garth, Donna Taylor, David

ory Hoggarth, Paul Hoggarth,
Murray Taylor, Daron Moir.

seals, Lisa Stretton, ten year

The September meeting of
the W.M.S. of Carmel Presby-
terian Church was held recently,

The president, Mrs. Harvey
Hyde, presided and opened the
meeting with a poem. The dev-
otional on "Faith" was given by
Mrs. Earl Campbell. The fall
Presbyterial will be held at
Goderich on October 9, at 1;30
p.m. Miss Beatrice Scott,
retiring missionary of the Bhil
Field, India will be the speak-
er. The Ladies Aid meeting
was held following the W.M.S.
when plans were made for the
annual bazaar to be held on
November 2,
St. Pauls A,C.W. held
their first sleeting after the
summer season in the afternoon
of September 19 at the rectory
in Exeter. The president, Mrs.
Anderson opened the meeting
with a prayer. The minutes of
the last meeting were read
and approved. Roll call was
answered with a scripture
"tree" verse. It was decided
to have a fall bazaar, bake sale
and tea at 3 o'clock on Satur-
day, October 19. Keeping the
roll call theme, Mrs. Anderson
and Mrs. Forrest spoke about
the different kinds of trees and
their uses mentioned through-
out the Bible. Miss Olive Petty
gave the study book on "Faith
Brings Peace." Mrs. Anderson
closed the meeting
BEST INSTITUTE DISPLAY- The Hensall Women's Institute
were awarded first prize for the best display at the Zurich Fall
Fair on Monday. A great deal of work went into the preparat-
ion of the display, shown in this photo.
