Zurich Women's Institute met
on Monday evening for their
first meeting of the fall season.
Sixteen members were present
and answered the roll call with
"Improvements they would like
to see in the village and com-
munity."

Some of these were: all dogs
kept tied up; stricter enforce-
ment of the speed limit;
better sidewalks, although this
is being undertaken; old build-
ings removed; and every com-
munity needs a park. One
member, who had previously
lived in a city, was quite
pleased with the village as it
is.
Details u; the bus trip plann-
ed for September 29 were given
which is a visit to the Sarnia
area, Wallaceburg and Wal-
pole Island, also Dresden and
Petrolia.
A thank -you card from Mrs.
T. Meyers was read and also
from the Red Cross Society
for the excellent turn -out at
the Blood Donor's Clinic in
August, which the W.I. had
been responsible for organizing.
A donation of $15 was given
to the Muscular Dystrophy Asso-
ciation.
Plans were also discussed for
the 60th anniversary of the
Zurich W.I. to be held on
Monday evening, September
30.
Any interested parties wishing to run a
concession booth for the winter of 1974-
1975 at the Zurich Arena inay contact the
Recreation Director, Art Hoy, at the arena,
either by phone, 236-4969, by mail, Zur-
ich Recreation Committee, Box 280, Zurich
or in person at the arena. Starting date -
