JOYCE PEPPER, CORRESPONDENT' WRIGHT REUNION Forty members of the family attended the Wright reunion on Sunday, August 11, at the Kirkton-Woodham Coannunity Centre. The president, Lorne Ross, extended a hearty wel- come to everyone. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Howard Wright and Margaret Nichols who had pass- ed away during the past year. A bountiful evening dinner, with turkey, birthday cake and ice-cream in honour of Mrs. Myrtle Kereher's 80th birthday, was enjoyed by all. The 1975 reunion will be held in Kirkton, the second Sunday in July at 1 p.m. with Lorne Ross as president and Mrs. Laurabelle Reichert as secretary. ST. PAUL'S CHURCH NOTES The Rev. G.A. Anderson was in charge of the service in St. Paul's Anglican Church Sunday morning. The orchestra accompanied the hymns and also played "Love lifted me," 5 LB The flowers were placed in memory of the late Lorne Hay. Mrs. Laird Mickle spent Tuesday of last week with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ross McMillan and family, of Wat- erloo, at Southcott Pines, Grand Bend, where they are vacationing for six weeks. Mrs. Robert Mickle and Mrs. Charles Crouch, London were recent visitors, and Mr, and Mrs. Keith Hillier, of London were guests on Sunday, with Mrs. Laird Mickle. Obituary LORNE E. HAY A prominent resident of Hensall, Lorne Hay, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 13, in University Hospit- al, London, at the age of 56. He had lived in Hensall for 24 years and was involved in many community activities. He was the president and dir- ector of the Western Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, a member of the Ausable Con- servation Authority for 17 years, a director of the South Huron Agricultural Society, a memb- er of Hensall United Church, the Oddfellows Lodge and Masonic Order. He was also on the church board. Surviving are his wife, the former Verna MacLean, a son Keith, of Vancouver, B.C., and a daughter Linda, at home. He was the brother of Mrs. Helen Pepper, Niagara Falls; Mrs. Calvin (Marjorie) Horton, R.R.5, Clinton; Mrs, Clayton (Margaret) Horton, Seaforth. A private funeral service was held Thursday, August 15, from the Bonthron Funeral Chapel, in Hensall, with Rev. Don Beck officiating. Inter- ment was in Maitland Bank Cemetery, Seaforth. Pallbearers were Doug Cook, Bev Wilks, Harvey McCallum, Jack McKay, Walter Spencer and Roger Martin, Flower bearers were Ed Odb- ert, Charles Hay, Verne Alder - dice and Gerald Horton. 0 FASTEN THOSE BELTS Seat belts in cars must be properly fastened to provide' maximum protection, advises consumers' Association of Can- ada, BUYING MEAT IN BULK.
