Married in Goshen Church

Louise Colclough exchanged
marriage vows in Goshen United
Church, July 19, 1974 at 7 p.m,
Rev. A. Taylor afficiated for
the ceremony. Baskets of yellov
and white daisies, blue carnat-
ions, pink gladiolas accented
with baby's breath and ferns,
also a display of candelabra
decorated the church altar.
The grooms is the son of Mr.
and Mn. Bruce Keys, Varna
and the bride's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. David Colclough,
Clinton.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride chose a floor
length gown of polyester sata
peace fashioned with guipure
lace accented the slightly
sc000ped neckline, Bishop
sleeves, front bodice and emp-
ire waist. The top of the deep
flounced skirt which swept into
a semi -cathedral train had
matching motifs of lace on the
front of the skirt. A lace clust-
er held her rolled illusion veil
in place. She carried a bouquet
of pink sweetheart roses, yellow
and blue stephanotis among
white daisies and baby's breath.
Pink, yellow and blue streamers
accenting the bridesmaids dres-
ses completed her bouquet.
Maid of honour was Miss
Esther Merrill, Bayfield and
Miss Ruth Ann Colclough, sister
of the bride, Clinton and Miss
Debbie Leckie, Huron Park
were bridesmaids. They wore
sheer floral swiss dot dresses
with different colour underlay.
The dresses were styled with a
scoop neckline, empire waist,
bell sleeves and ruffles on the
bottom of the shirts. They wore
wide brimmed white hats with
ribbons to match their dress
and carried bouquets of pink,
yellow and blue daisies with
baby's breath and streamers
of ribbon matching the individ-
ual dress colours.
Groomsman was Steven Keys,
Varna, and Wayne Cantelon,
Seaforth and Danny Johnston,
Bayfield ushered the guests.
Organist was Mrs. Doug
McAsh.
A wedding reception was
held in the Clinton Legion
Ball.
For travelling the bride
changed to a beige suit trimm-
ed with a brown collar and short
cuffed sleeves, and a multi-
coloured corsage.
Upon their return from a
wedding trip through Northern
Ontario the young couple will
reside at R.R,1, Varna.
Bridal showers were given
by Mrs. Peggy Colelough,
Vanastra, Mrs. Trudy Hill,
Varna, Miss Esther Merrill,
Bayfield and Mrs. Shirley Hill,
of Varna.

Need contestants for
Bean Festival Queen
Plans for the ninth annual
Bean Festival In Zurich on
August 24 are now almost
complete, and the biggest prob-
lem to date is the lads of vol-
unteer workers to assist in the
project. Officials of the event
are warning the community
that unless more help comes
forward this could be the last
festival in Zurich.
A highlight of this year's
event will again be the crown-
ing of a "Bean Festival Queen"
on Saturday night, and rhe
competition is open to all girls
within a 40 -utile radius of
Zurich.. The contestants must
be at least 15 years old, and
may be sponsored by some
firms or organization if they
wish, Ilowever, this is not a
requirement of the contest.
Any girls interested in enter-
ing the Queen Contest should
register with Mrs. Marge
Schilhe as soon as possible.
Deadline for entering is Thurs-
day, August 23. Mrs, Schilbe
can be contacted at 23(3-4792.
The preliminary judging
will take place on the main
stage at 5 p.m. with the finals
about one hour later.
A mens' work bee is planned
for tonight, Thursday, and any
persons interested are asked to
come out and lend a hand.
There is a great deal of work
to be done, so many hands are
needed.

attended the funeral of Mrs:
William Schumraker at Pigeon
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader
spent the weekend at Manit-
oulin Island with Mr. and Mrs.
Eric Eagleson and. Marshall
and Mr, and Mrs. Allan Eagle-
son and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Leeland Rest-
emayer and Robert, Mike
Ziler and Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Weiberg and girls London,
vacationed at Inverlucity last
week where the fishing was
great.
