The residential property in
Zurich, being the estate of the
late Andrew Smith, has been
sold to Mr. Gideon Koehler,
who at present occupies part
of the house as living quarters.
Dr. and Mrs. C. Campbell
and family, of Toronto, called
on friends in Zurich on Tuesday.
E, E. Wuerth and Jacob Brown
motored to Kitchener last
Wednesday, Mrs. Wuerth, who
has been visiting friends in that
city, returned with thein.
The Ladies' Aid of Zurich
Evangelical Church were enter-
tained by the Crediton Aid last
Thursday at the home of Mrs.
J. Wein.
An interesting Sunday School
convention will be held in the
Zurich Mennonite Church over.
the weekend. Services will be
held on Saturday night and
three times on Sunday.
Mr. C. Fritz and family are
attending the Old Boys' Reunion
at Stratford this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvanus Wit-
mer and Miss Adell spent Thurs-
day in London.
Miss Susie Johnston returned
home after a pleasant visit with
friends in Kitchener and Ham-
ilton.
Rhyman Kalbfleisch, of the
Molson's Bank staff, Windsor,
is spending his vacation at his
home in Zurich.
Rev. and Mrs. Lloyd Kalbfl-
eisch, of Brantford, are spendinf
their vacation with his parents
in Zurich.

The young men of the vill-
age of Zurich have organized
into a softball league. Some
interesting and exciting games
are being played on the local
diamond these pleasant even-
ings.

the southerly part of the prop-
erty in Zurich on Edward Street,
owned by Mr. Jacob Deichert,
and intends wrecking the stable
on the premises in order to
erect a modern dwelling there-
on, this year.
Master Dougie O'Brien was
to London Hospital last week
for an operation. Mrs. O'Brien
is staying there with him.
Relatives and neighbours of
Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Denomme
presented them with a shower
on Saturday evening. Many
useful gifts were received.
Miss Lenora Haberer, of
Zurich, has recently received
the good news of having been
successful in passing all theor-
etical and practical examinat-
ions in the A.T.C,M, grade,
with the Toronto Conservatory
of Music.
Calvin and Robert Williams
motored to Detroit on Sunday
where they visited their cousins,
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Ehnes,
who showed the Williams broth-
ers some of the finer sights of
the city.

Misses Mary Mae Fisher and
Margaret Deichert have accept-
ed positions in Kitchener.
Miss Ellen Marie Love,
of R.R,1, Zurich is in Toronto
this month attending profess-
ional seminars at the Royal
Conservatory of Music Summer
School.
Mrs. Norman Fleischauer,
of Zurich, won a split prize of
$250 at the bingo sponsored
by the Hensall Legion.
Mr. and Mrs. W, W, Thomp-
son and baby and Miss Vera
Dedels, of Kitchener, were
Sunday visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Datars, Sr.,
at Zurich.
Miss Olive O'Brien is spend-
ing a few weeks vacation with
her relatives and friends in Port

William J, D, Mero has been
granted a permanent first class
certificate for teaching in
Ontario schools, by the Ontario
College of Education at Tor-

On Sunday evening the par-
ishoners of St. Peter's Parish,
St. Joseph, gathered together
to bid Monsignor Bourdeu
farewell, prior to his leaving
for his new parish at Paincourt.

Sue Anne Schroeder, of
Dashwood, pulled the winning
ticket for a registered Aberdeen
Angus calf last Wednesday
night, at the annual Zurich
Lions Club chicken barbecue
and frolic. Winner of the calf
was Herb Crocker, of London.
A Zurich district farmer,
Percy Willert, was seriously
injured last week in an accident
with a tractor, on his farm.
Traffic lights are being inst-
alled at the main intersection
of Grand Bend by the depart-
ment of Highways people.
Byran Kyle was awarded the
contract for painting the inter-
ior of the Hensall Arena.
Mrs. Christian Gascho passed
away at her home last week,
in her 92nd year.
Joy Ann Erb and Cornelius A.
Klassen were united in marriage
at Blake Mennonite Church on
July 25, 1964.
