KINSMEN CONVENTION - Members of the Exeter and llensall Kinsmen and K inette Clubs att-
ended the District 1 Kinsmen Convention in Niagara Falls, May 17-20. It was announced that the
83 Clubs in District 1 had donated $101,194.86 to Cystic Fibrosis Research over the past three years.
Accepting the cheques on behalf of the C.F. Foundation are Kevin and Andrea Taylor, Scarbor-
ough with Clark Pepper, C.F. Chairman for District 1. To their left is Ross Wilke, Zone B
Deputy Governor. Representing area Kinsmen are from Exeter from left center, 1Vayne and Wendy
King, Bob and Wanda Reynolds, and Jim and Anne Neil. From Ilensall on the right are Jitit and

Hensall council face
drainage problem

Hensall council met on
June 3, with E.R. Davis hack
on the job attending to catch
basins, drains, street cleaning
and replacing stop signs.
George Parker told council
he wanted a stump removed
and something done about drains
After a great deal of discussion
Council decided to send for the
engineer and if he can't come
up with a solution, they will
get another engineer.
Since Frank Parsons is quitt-
ing his job as caretaker of the
disposal site, an advertisement
will appear for a man to take
his place.
Councillor Harold K night
reported that the various coun-
cils involved are being cont-
acted regarding fire protection,
and nothing has been finalized.
Regarding rhe retail merchants
resolution on uniform fours of
business, council decided that
there was not much they could
d o.
Council endorsed the resolut-
ion of the Regional Municipal-
ity of Peel regarding rough play
in hockey. Some council mem-
bers thought that fighting could
be stopped at hockey if the
fighting players were barred
from the game.
Councillor Paul Neilands and
reeve John Baker will take the
bus trip to the C)nrario Hydro
Generating Plant at Pickering.
Building permits were issued
to Robert Erb for a rt..sidence on
)oil( Crescent; to Tom Neilands
to build a residence: to Paul
Neilands for a garden shed; to
Harold Knight for a garage;
to L. Noakes for siding; and
Oliver Jaques for siding.
Tt was decided after due dis-
cussion that the dump costs
should be allotted to the town
for 3010, the mills 4Ct1o, Bendix
200;1) and Big 0 1010.
A by-law to approve the
cancellation of assessments for
Pat O'Brien, R. Rowcliffe and
Robert Irwin was approved.
