Help seeds grow!
A wide variety of accessories
is available to gardening enth-
usiasts who like to grow plants
from seeds or cuttings.
There is a large selection of
plastic, peat and fibre contain-
ers, as well as ships and packs
for getting seeds and cuttings
started. You can eliminate
weeds from the germination
medium by using one of the
many soil -less mixes, which
are also free from insects and
diseases.
Vibrating, battery- operated
miniature seeders assure an
even flow of seeds and thus an
even stand of seedlings. Elect-
ric propagating mats and heat-
ing coils provide uniform temp-
eratures to the bottoms of cont-
ainers, encouraging the germ-
ination process. Rooting hor-
mones are available for sparking
root development on soft -and
hardwood cuttings.
Mist watering systems, new
types of fungicide and insectic-
ide and starter fertilizers have
made the hobby of plant prop-
agation something of a science
for home gardeners.
NEW FACILITIES - This is the new 11, 000 square foot cement block building recently constructed by the Hensall District Co -
Operative on Davidson Drive. The front part of the building, in the foreground, consists of a large store, offices and board room,
while the back section is the spacious warehouse. Total cost of the building, including all store fixtures and office furnishings, was
approximately $109, 000. The building was constructed by Con -Eng Contractors Ltd., of London.
