on Tuesday, February 19.

er; lone hands, Homer Russel.
Mr. and Mrs, Howard Datars
attended the Ontario Plowmen's
Association annual meeting at
the Royal York Hotel, Toronto,
last week. •
Peter John, infant son of
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gibson
was baptized in Zion Lutheran
church Sunday, February 24,
by Rev Frank Morgret. The
sponsors were Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Keller.
4-H MEETING
Club No III of Dashwood
4-H girls held their second
meeting February 19. Leaders,
Mrs. Delmar Miller and Mrs.
Ernest Miller and 10 girls wel-
comed Joanne and Judy Miller
and Ericka Freiter to the club.
The proper method of manicur-
ing was discussed after which
the girls gave each other man-
icures.
Zion Lutheran church choir
held their annual meeting and
social evening Thursday, Feb-
ruary 21, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Miller. Offic-
ers were president, Ernest Mill-
er; vice-president, Howard
Datars; secretary -treasurer,
Mrs. Ray VanDorsselaer; librar-
ian, Howard Datars,; choir lead-
er, Melvin Stade; social com-
mittee, Mrs. Howard Datars,
Mrs. Melvin Stade and Charles
Martene.
Following the meeting, Court
Whist was played with winners
as follows, ladies high, Helen
Nadiger; low. Mrs. Charles
Martene; men's high, Howard
Datars; low, Albert Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader
returned home Sunday follow-
ing a two week visit to Florida.
They visited Miami, St. Peters -

boat trip to Nassau and saw the
straw market. Many more place:
of interest were visited. They
really had a delightful trip.

Mrs. Marg Parsons and Janice,

for Anne Morrissey, bride -elect
of March, at the home of Mrs.

Mrs, Oscar Greb convened
the meeting of the Zurich
United Church Women and op-
ened the devotional period by
reading the words of the hymn.
"I Love to Tell the Story, "
which was sung. She gave a
brief history of the hymn -writ-
er,
Miss Idella Gabel played a
lovely piano solo. Mrs. Don
Rawlings read a poem, "On the
Road" and led in prayer.
A recording was played, feat-
uring the voices of Mrs. A. M.
Amacher, Mrs. Ken Breakey
and Mrs, Beatrice Rader.
Mrs. Greb presented the study
topic, "Who is Jesus?" She was
assisted in this by Mrs. Milton
Dietz, who read scripture
from Matthew 25, and quotes
from Malcolm Muggeridge,
The New World Bible, Eugene
Smith and J.A. Davidson.
The hymn 'Jesus Is Always
There" was sung. Mrs. Greb
presented a reading "The Face
of Christ." The offering was
received and dedicated, while
Miss Gabel played the piano.
Mrs. Ward Neeb conducted
the business meeting which fol-
lowed. Two members chosen to
serve on the church's centenn-
ial committee were Mrs. Dor-
othy Breakey and Mrs. Meda
O'Brien. It was decided to
cater to a Women's Institute
luncheon on May 16.

gone surgery; Mrs. Hugh Boyle
is a patient in Victoria Hospital,

DASHWOOD MEN'S CLUB
Dashwood Men's Club held
their monthly Monday night
dinner meeting with farmers as
guests catered to by the Wom-
en's Institute. Guest speaker,
Mike Rodgers, of the Farm
Credit Corporation proved a
very interesting speaker, follow-
ed by a question and answer per-
iod. A sing -song discussion of
community affairs rounded out
the evening.
Mrs. Albert Rader spent last
week at Willowdale with Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Cudmore. They
called at the Jarrot Funeral
Home, Sunday, to view the
late Tim Horton along with
hundreds of other callers.
Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Tie -
man attended the gift show in
Toronto over the weekend,
Mrs. Helen Grieves attended
the Cornell- Sutherland wedd-
ing at Christ Church, Chatham,
and the reception at St, Mary's
Hall, Blenheim. The bride was
her granddaughter.
