It was the first time this season that the Flyers managed to defeat the first - place Shipka crew. With less than a minute left to play the referees called the game off when a major donny- brook threatened to erupt. Another goal by Ron Corriveau at the 5.41 mark gave Zurich their same two goal lead. Two minutes later Paul Corriveau flashed the red light for the locals to give them a 4-1 lead, but Barry Clarke retaliated for the Bears midway through the stanza. At the 6.27 mark of the third period the Shipka crew came back strong and a goal by Jack Stanlake brought them within one marker of tieing the score.
