Married in Exeter United Church
DECKER - McDONALD
Orange candelabra and bask-
ets of yellow mums and orange
gladioli provided the setting in
Exeter United Church when
Susan Marie McDonald and
Fredrick Randal Decker exchan-
ged wedding vows November 17,
1973.
Rev. Glenn Wright officiated
with music by Bob McIntosh
and soloist Marlene Mathers.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor length
gown of French chantilly lace
with an overskirt, high neckline
and long full sleeves. The dress
was complemented with a cath-
edral length veil edged in the
same lace.
The bride carried a bouquet
of yellow roses and mums.
The maid of honor was Linda
Hackney and bridesmaids were
Zurich Institute

Christmas ideas
The Christmas meeting of
Zurich Woman's Institute was
held on Monday evening, Dec-
ember 3 'with a large attendance,
of members and guests.
Mrs. W. Lawrence presided
for the interesting program.
Several Christmas carols were
sung. Mrs. Irvin Martin contrib-
uted a piano number, Mrs.
Norma Siebert had a lovely
display of Christmas decorat-
ions and demonstrated how
they were made, giving those
present many ideas for making
inexpensive trimmings. She also
told us about interesting work-
shops on crafts which she had
attended.
Mrs. Ina Neeb and daughter
Martha sang a Christmas duet
and Mrs. Keith Westlake gave
a reading "The High Cost of
Christmas" followed by an ex-
change of Christmas gifts. Two
lucky numbers were drawn for
Christmas wreaths and the win-
ners were Mrs. Alpha Brown,
Oakville and Mrs. Nancy Koehl-
er.
Lunch was served by the com-
mittee in charge, Mrs. W. Law-
rence, Mrs. U. Pfile and Mrs.
K. Westlake.
The W.I. plan on holding
euchre parties again beginning
early in January.
Barbara Tiedeman, sister of the
bride, Susan and Jennifer Deck-
er, both sisters of the groom.
Kelly Tiedeman, niece of the
bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
They were dressed alike in
long gowns of rust velvet, with
halter tops and sheer floral skirts,
The outfits were topped with
matching capes and picture hats.
They carried baskets of y ellow
and gold mums.
Tim Decker, brother of the
groom was best man. Wayne
and Brian Decker, also brothers
of the groom and Bob McDonald
brother of the bride, were ushers
and Michael Tiedeman, nephew
of the bride was the ringbearer.
Following a reception at the
Pineridge Chalet, Hensall the
couple left for a wedding trip to
Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
For travelling the bride wore a
beige tweed pant suit with brown
accessories.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Ivirs. Reg McDonald,
Exeter, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Deck-
er, R, R.1, Nipissing, formerly
of Zurich.
The couple will reside at 457
William St., Exeter.
Prior to the marriage the
bride was honored at showers
given by Edith Willert and Sheila
Knechtel; Linda hackney,
Audrey McDonald, Kathy Mc-
Vittie and Lois Learn; and Ruth
Skinner.

Mrs. Rachel Schwalm is in
charge of the collected stamps,
and the " These Days" magazine.
The new slate of officers were
installed by Mrs. Ruby Hoggarth.
The Ladies Aid meeting
followed with Ivirs. Aldeen Vol -
land presiding. Plans were made
to make Christmas treats for the
sick and shut-ins. A Christmas
pot luck luncheon was enjoyed
by everyone at the conclusion
of the meeting.

was presented to each teacher on November 29, 1973.
The total cost of salary and fringe benefits in this proposal is a 9.85% increase over
the cost of the 1972 -1973 agreement.
