CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY - Mrs. Daisy Ivey, who resides with Mrs. Rachel Schwalm in Hensall, was honored to a birth - daypartylast Thursdayafternoon on the occasion of her 86th birth- day. A few friends and neigh- bours who have become acqu- ainted with Mrs. Iveyattended as well as her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Desmond Ivey of Sarnia. Two long distance tele- phone calls were received offer- ing congratulations. One was from her grandson and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. AnthonyIvey, of y' Virginia, and the other was from her son, his wife and granddaugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Ivey and Avril from Montreal. Mrs, Ivey received many lovely gifts and cards. KINETTE CLUB The Kinette Club of Hensall plan to visit Queensway Nursing Home next week and on Dec- ember 5, visited the Goderich Psychiatric Hospital. This past Y P weekend they visited all the shut-ins in the Hensall area. The club recently gave donations to the Rides for Residents van Huronview, and also the Sal- vation Army.The Kinettes have announced that they have paid for ice time for the month of December for free skating on Fridayat the Hensall arena. Roddyy Parker lit the 1st Advent candle, The floral arrangements in the church had beenplaced there in loving memory of the late Laird Mickle by his wife and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Klungel, of Hensall, have announced that as of last month the Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall has been operating under new own - ership. The business was sold to Mr. and Mrs. S. Carlsen of Arthur. ObitUarY ROBERT SIMPSON Robert Simpson, of Hensall, formerly of Toronto, passed formerly of Toronto, passed away suddenly in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, on November 26, in his 79th year. Eric Luther played piano selections and led in a P sing song. Mrs. Thomas Brent- nell and Mrs. Harold Parker favoured with humorous readings,Wednesdayand Russell Ferguson read the address and presented Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell with a recliner chair. It was a double celebration as they celebrated their 45th wedd- ing anniversary on November 10. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Rev.
