Miss Pearl Wurtz read scripture, and offered prayer. Mrs. Kenneth Breakey and Mrs. Beatrice Rader sang two lovely duets. Christmas Action was the theme of a meditation led by Ethel Gabel, with Mrs. Neeb and Miss O'Brien. Miss O'Brien confronted the group with the question "What Is It that Makes Christmas?" Mrs. Herb Neeb presented a Christmas reading and Mrs. Ward Neeb sang a solo "I Would Be True." Ethel Gabel conductec a candlelighting Ritual of Cel- ebration of Birth, which closed with prayer. In the business period of the meeting, it was decided to donate $50 to the Adult Rehabil- itation Centre, at Dashwood; $100 to Camp Menesetung at Goclerich, and $100 to the Church Mission and Service Fund. The January meeting will be held on January 10 at 2 p.m. Mrs. Russell Grainger was named to the office of vice- president; The out -going president, Miss Ethel Gabel, expressed her appreciation to the group for co-operation in all phases of work during her two years' in office. This was replied to by the secretary. Lunch was served during the period of fellowship. Lutheran Women Christmas meeting Christmas Latin American Style was the theme for the Christmas meeting of the Luth- eran Church Women. Mrs. A. Blackwell, Miss Inez Yungblut Mrs. E. Flaxbard and Mrs. A. Finkbeiner were the committee in charge. Christmas candles and a manger scene helped dep- ict the Christmas season here anc in Latin America. In Latin America the outside cultural influence came from Spain or Portugal, whereupon it mingled with the native Indian cultures in a way that created a new and quite marvelous blend. This mixture of cultures helped create the spirit of Christmas which combines a pious reverence and devotion on the one hand, along with a carnival like gaiety on the other. The members took part in the "Litany of Las Pasadas. " Each member carried a lighted candle and half represented the Pilgrims and the other half the innkeepers. Latin American food was served for lunch. Mexican Coffee and Bunuelos with Rosca de Reyers (King's Cake) served next. Delicious pecan candy finished off the delicious lunch. The meeting ended with a Pinata party. A short meeting was conduct- ed by the president Mrs. C. Deichert, She thanked the members for their donations of clothes, toys and money for the Children's Aid. All donations for the Good -Cheer boxes are to be left at the parsonage or church by 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15. A gift of money was given to the church treasury. Rev. L. Kalbfleisch acted as chairman for the annual meet- ing. Mrs. William Lawrence gave a report of the nominating com- mittee. The executive for the corning year is as follows: President, Mrs. C. Deichert; secretary, Mrs. C. Willert; treasurer, Mrs. J. Haberer; first vice president, Mrs. H. Hohner. Mrs. C. Deichert gave the president's report for the year and also thanked everyone for their co-operation. Mrs. Hob- ner thanked the retiring secret- ary, Mrs. Willert and treasurer, Mrs. G. Hess. Mrs. Deichert presented Rev. and Mrs. Black- well with a gift ori behalf of the Luthern Church Women. 0 Two housekeepers were talking over their problems of work. One said, "This lady I work for says I should warm the plates for our dinner guests. But that's too much work.
