Zurich, Ontario.
Dear Friends;
Especially at Christmas time,
I think of all the used postage
stamps that are needlessly disc-
arded. These seemingly worth-
less articles, from any country,
are sold in bulk by the Scarboro
Fathers, to stamp dealers, to
help finance missicn projects
throughout the world.
In 10 months I have received
over 100 lbs, of cancelled post-
age stamps, in small quantities,
in very large quantities, from
schools, service clubs, • compan-
ies, individuals etc. They add
up quickly if everyone collects
them for me.
It hardly takes a second to
rip the used postage stamps off
of an envelope leaving a bit of
paper around it.
This can be your way of help-
ing the world's poor without
costing you a lot of time or
money.
Please send (by "Third Class"
Mail) or bring all your cancelled
postage stamps, anytime of the
year to: Mrs. R. M. Chmay,
230 Jarvis Street, Fort Erie,
Ontario; or Mrs. J.C. Lawrence.
6782 Dorchester Road, Niagara
Falls, Ontario.
Thank you,
R.M. Chmay.

7, toregister for a third set of
qualifying examinations and
stop practising as denturists or
face prosecution. The Denturists
Society bitterly fought the act
which brings its members --
once they qualify under the sup-
ervision of dentists cutting off
direct dealing with the public.
About 80 denturists have qualif-
ied in two previous examinations
this year. There are an estimated
150 to 200 still making false
teeth illegally in about 85 clin-
ics in Ontario.
Ontario Education Minister
Tom Wells, refused this week to
raise the announced 1974 Prov-
incial ceilings on school board
spending despite criticism that
the ceilings are increasing teach-
er/pupil ratios and are creating
situations where students lack
textbooks or laboratory equip-
ment. Canada leads all countries
per capital education spending,
except for Sweden. Ontario tops
all other Canadian provinces in
this regard.
Environment Minister James
Ault did an about face and an-
nounced that after reconsiderat-
ion this Ministry's inspectors will
prosecute drivers who removed
control devices from their cars
if they did not put them back
on after a warning. He said the
current Ontario standards are
adequate and the Federal Govern
ment should not require autom-
obile manufacturers to install
devices which reduce exhaust
more than the present controls.
