Although we couldn't expect to have as large a crowd as some of these other events, all reports state that we had a very successful event, and I am sure the Aux- iliary are very grateful to all who braved the elements to attend the tea and bake sale. On behalf of the Auxiliary and the Home, I would like to say a special thank -you to the children of St. Marys School, St. Joseph, and Zurich Public School for making posters for advertising purposes, all who donated baking, bazaar items and those who assisted in so many other ways, all adding to the success of the event. The success of the Auxiliary's proj- ects spells out the added com- forts provided for the residents' enjoyment. On Monday evening, films were shown followed by refresh- ments. We appreciate the materials donated for the craft room activities from the various people in the community during the past weeks, also the assist- ance of Mrs. Amelia Prang and Miss Verda Baechler which was a great help to Mrs. Siebert. On Wednesday evening, the children from the Church of God, Grand Bend, visited the Home presenting their regular monthly program. St. Peter's Lutheran Church ov. A. C. Blackwell, B.A4 B.D. Also named to the committee was Edward Row- land of Dublin, co-ordinator of plant maintenance. The board approved having four members of the Family Life Advisory Committee attend a two-day seminar on family life and sex education in Windsor on December 1 and 2. Francis Hick- nell, of R.R.5, Seaforth and Vincent Young, of Goderich, rnernbers of the committee will be invited to attend. It is hoped that this confer- ence may awaken an interest in the family life program which has reached a standstill when not sufficient teachers volunteer- ed to take a special training course in Kitchener to teach the course in the nineteen separate schools in the two counties. A roofing conference is to be held in Kitchener on December 3. Edward Rowland and as many members of the property corn- mittee, who are able, are to attend this conference that will discuss roofing problems. Stratford members of the board will attend a meeting with Stratford City Council, Stratford Planning Board and other interested groups to study a subdivision plan lathe Morn- ington area. Gordon Ball, of St. Marys reported that the St. Marys Council has approved the instal- lation of street lights for the unserviced areas near Holy Name of Mary School. Howard Shantz reported the tender for the storm drain for St. Aloysius School in Stratford has been let to Ted Van Roostel of Woodham. The drain is exp- ected to require 620 feet of 8 - inch tile and two cutch basins. The board endorsed the resol- ution from Hastings -Prince Ed- ward County Roman Catholic Separate School Board regarding the Ontario Separate School Trustees Association providing Toronto is permitted four direct- ors instead of two as proposed by an ad hoc committee doing a study on the Association be- cause Toronto has such a large proportion of the catholic stud- ents in Ontario. 0 FORECAST SHORTAGES An unusual market situation, brought about by several factors, has resulted in sales of farm machinery in excess of 25 per- cent over 1972 in Ontario. Factors influencing the mach- inery market aren't changing quickly, so it seems logical that, in 1974, farmers will experience similar shortages, notes Hal Wright, the secretary -manager of the Ontario Farm Machinery Board, "Many manufacturers are expanding their production fac- ilities and/or laying on addition- al work shifts to increase their production. Any gains manufact- urers may make by plant expan- sion could be offset by a contin- ued shortage of raw materials.
