Nine- teen members answered the roll call, a cure for the blues. Mrs. Earl Keller discussed the Motto, "Thrice happy is the man with a hobby,." Mrs. Val Becker gave an appropriate Rememb- rance Day reading. Guest speaker, Mrs. Delmar Miller, demonstrated icing a cake and many forms of decor- ation. The cake was served for lunch. President, Mrs. Gordon Bend- er, dealt with the business. Contributions were made to the blind, Men's Club for the Children's Christmas Party, Children's Aid, War Memorial Hospital, and our adopted child. The Institute accepted an invit- ation from Crediton W.I. on November 21. Mrs. Susan Snider, Blue Water Rest Home, is spending some time at the Ed Nadiger residence Mrs. Nadiger, who underwent eye surgery at University Hosp- ital, London, returned home Tuesday. Robert Welch, Ontario Socia: Development Secretary was sworn in Wednesday as Ontario first Minister of Housing. Mr. Welch, a St. Catherines' Law- yer, previously held the Citiz- enship and Education portfolios, Mr. Welch will retain his port- folio as Secretary but will soon be assigned a Parliamentary assistant to have him perform his double duties. Ontario will have Acupunture Centres shortly. The Minister of Health, Dr. Potter, told the Legislature he would recomm- end that some Acupunture Training Centres be set up in the Province and that they pro- bably would be associated with the University Training centres, According to Dr. Potter the medical delegation that visited China is now preparing reports on the subject and is working with the Ministry and the Ont- ario Council of Health. Al- though Dr. Potter has not rec- eived the recommendations from the Ontario Council of Health as yet, he did not exp- ect the program to be 'limited to doctors only. However, there will be strict regulation and some control exercised to en- sure that the public are not taken advantage of. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bender were honored by their family on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary with a din- ner at the Old Mill, Parkhill. Present for the occasion were all their family, namely, Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Bender and fam- ily, Crediton; Mr. and Mrs. Don Bender and boys; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Richardson and family, .Markdale; Doug, Harold and Patricia.
