Celebrate 69th anniversary

former Nancy Kipfer resides in
Hensall.
They were married at the
Anglican Parish in Hensall
on November 6, 1903. Before
moving to Hensall thirty-six
years ago, they farmed on the
Parr Line.
The couple have four sons
and two daughters, Roy, Tim-
mins, Dave, of Hensall, Russell,
of St Catherines, Another son,
Byron, pre -deceased them
some months ago. Mrs. Arnold
Merner, Zurich, and Mrs. Clair
Tuckey, London, The couple
received many congratulatory
messages.

Amber Rebekahs
make donations
The regular meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge was held
Wednesday evening with N. G.
Mrs. Stewart Blackwell presid-
ing and being assisted by V. G.
Mrs. Clarence Volland.
The flag was presented and
placed into position, and Lodge
opened in regular form. Minute;
of the previous meeting were
read and approved. It was
reported that a donation had
been made to the CNIB, and
also a donation to the Children':
Aid Society at Goderich.
Final arrangements were
made for the euchre to be held
Friday evening, November 17,
in the Lodge rooms. A number
of members offered to donate
the prizes for this euchre.

Unit IV of Hensall United
Church Women, met on Thurs-
day afternoon at the church with
the leader, Mrs. J. McAllister,
presiding. The meeting opened
with Matthew 5-9, "Blessed are
the peacemakers for they shall
be called the children of God, "
in honour of Armistice Day and
the hope for a peaceful settle-
ment in Vietnam,
Mrs. Robbal gave the devot-
ional from Psalm 121. Mrs, Eric
Luther used as her theme "His
name is wonderful" for an inspir-
ing topic.
Hymns were sung with Mrs.
Sherritt accompanying. Musical
numbers, "Whispering Hope, "
and "How Great Thous Art, "
were given by Mrs. Grace
Harpole.
The ladies decided to do
quilting again. Mrs. T. Sitr-
ritt gave the treasurer's report.
Mrs. J. Ferguson and Mrs. E.
Pym, the hostesses, took up
the offering. Mrs. E. Chipchase
and her committee served lunch
The 1972 slate of officers
were returned for 1973. They
are, leaders, Mrs. J. McAllist-
er and Mrs. R. Errat; secretary,
Mrs, H. Caldwell, Mrs. Joe
Flynn; treasurers, Mrs. T.
Sherritt, Mrs. G. Armstrong;
pianists, Mrs. L. Mickle, Mrs.
T. Sherritt; social functions,
Mrs. H. Caldwell.
Hensall council seek
advice on drainage
Kinghorn to build a new home.
Council agreed that the application for Land Division, as
received from the committee, for Robert Wedge for land sev-
erance, be completed by the clerk asking for five per cent
of the value of the severed land in the old school property.
The clerk was instructed to make application to the Depart-
ment of Transportation and Communications for a supplement-
ary expenditure in the amount of $6500, Bills and accounts
of approximately $16, 355.74 were ordered paid, which incl-
uded $115 to Bruce Morton for a used masonry saw and $250 for
tarmac for a cut across the street near Boise Cascade.
At a special meeting October 20, council decided to make
an initial payment of up to $1200. on the purchase of a tractor
for the Arena.
