At any rate, it is not bus riding weather and so our residents have to tut! to other past times. Our hook worms get a few extra books from the library and we hope to interest more of our residents in crafts for the winter mouths. We are grateful to Mrs. Arnold Alerner, Miss Inez Yungblut, Mrs. Annie Finlcbeiner, Airs. Milt Dietz and Mrs. Emma Schilbe for corning in and helping to finish the quilting, also Mrs. Myrtle Ilay, Mrs. Elsie McKinley, Mrs. Mary Iley and Mrs. McBride for VIEWS ON JEANS .Jeans have taken on the status of a uniform for a wide cross-section of the population from pint-sized children to middle-aged hippies. Consum- ers' Association of Canada recently conducted a test on boys' jeans, sizes 8 to 14, and reports that durability and app- earance tests indicate the best buys are GWG Easy G's and Wrangler Schooners. Only one brand tested was rated as un- satisfactory, Knickerbocker Tex -Sun Riders. Results showed that price or fabric weight were not reliable quality guidelines. The two highest rated brands, GWG Easy G's and Wrangler Schooners, were neither the heaviest by weight, nor the most expensive. Appearance ratings were bas- ed on the results of an 18 day wear study, number of flaws initially in jeans and number of repairs required. Durability tests measured fabric strength. Extent of shrinkage was also taken into account in assigning ratings. ZurIch Menlnoiu$.
