Toronto's CN Tower

up and pop .
Toronto's CN Tower in-
ched past the 900 -foot level at
Thanksgiving, on its way to
the 1800 -plus height that will
make it the tallest self-
supporting structure in the
world.
The Tower is being built of
reinforced concrete at the
foot of John Street, south of
Front, in downtown Toronto.
It's the first structure in
Metro Centre, a
redevelopment of 190 acres
of land owned by Canadian
National and Canadian
Pacific.
CN Tower will be topped
by a 305 -foot transmission
mast that will enable
Toronto broadcasting
companies to provide high-
quality signals to a wider
area than at present.
A seven storey sky pod
located between the 1,100
and 1,200 -foot levels will
contain public observation
decks and a revolving dining
room. Elevators to this level
will have glass -faced shafts,
permitting a breathtaking
view during the 60 -second
ascent.
CN Tower is scheduled for.
completion in the late 1974 or
early 1975.

tion comedy revolving around the unusual goings-on in a small
town barber shop. It will be seen Thursdays at 9:00 on the
CBC -TV network. Seen above with Terry (center) are her co-

CALVES ARRIVING
A car load of calves will be arriving in
Hensall in a few days. A limited number
of groups of four will be available. Any
boy or girl in the Township of Hay, Hibbert,
Tuckersmith, Stanley, Usborne and Stephen
wishing to feed calves for the Hensall South
Huron Agricultural Society, please contact

Unit IV of Hensall United
Church Women met at the
Church last Thursday with 25
members and four visitors pres-
ent. Mrs. J. McAllister opened
the meeting with a thought fron
Matthew "You are the light of
the world."
Mrs. Albert Alexander gave
the devotional which began
with the singing of a hymn,
and the reading of the second
chapter of Ephesians. In her
address Mrs. Alexander said
that Christ carne to tear down
barriers and walls of hate,
doubt and suspicion and to
build bridges of love and under-
standing. She closed with
prayer.
Mrs. Laird Mickle gave the
topic on "The Well known
Stranger." She said that there
are many books written on the
life of great men but only one
volume on the life of the
greatest man who ever lived
on earth. Mrs. Pyke and Mrs.
Harpole contributed the prog-
ram number.
The election of officers took
place. They are; leaders, Mrs.
J. McAllister and Mrs. R.
Erratt, treasurers, Mrs. Thomas
Sherrit and Mrs. George Arm-
strong.
Reports were given by the
treasurer, Mrs. Sherritt, the
social functions, Mrs. Cald-
well, the president, Mrs.
McAllister and the regional in
Grand Bend by Mrs. Errata.
The meeting closed with hymn
