elect officers
Mrs. Ken Parke was hostess
for the October meeting of
Goshen United Church Women
at the cottage Thursday night,
October 18. Mrs. Anson Mc-
Kinley opened the meeting.
Blest be the Tie that Binds was
sung.
Mrs. Anson McKinley introd-
uced the study for this year, "
Mission Impossible Unless--"
The study was on Missions with
Mrs. Anson McKinley leading
Mrs. William Clarke read Mis-
sion "Project from abroad."
Mrs. Roy McBride read "Parable
of the Good Samaratan. "
"Where only love and concern
was required"was read by Mrs.
Mel Elliott and "Mission at
Home" by Mrs. Gerald Hayter.
Prayer by Mrs. Anson McKinley.
Business was conducted by mfrs
Elmer Hayter. Minutes were
read and approved. Roll call
was answered by "something
we were thankful for." An inv-
itation to Varna on November 1,
was accepted. Thank -you cards
were read from Bob Peck and
the Pitt family. Mrs. Elmer
Hayter read a letter from Boliv-
ian Union of South Africa and
a letter from Alma College.
A donation was collected for
Mary Mitchell. Mrs. Allen
1-Iayter brought up about a proj-
ect for needy families. Boxes
are to be packed with clothing.
The five group leaders are i41
charge.

GEORGE INGRAM
George Jackson Ingram pass-
ed away at his residence in
Hensail on October 28, in his
'73rd year.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Laura M. Johnson,
one brother, Al, of Arizona,
and three sisters, Mrs. Mae
O'Day, Michigan, Mrs. Stella
Bawden, Chesterville, and Mrs
Ruby Hoggarth of Hensail.
The late Mr. Ingram rested
at the Bonthron Funeral Chapel
in Hensail where funeral serv-
ice was held on October 30,
with Rev. Don Beck officiating.
Interment in Hensail Union
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Al 1-Ioggarth,
Ray Ingram, Dave Ingram,
Jerry Johnson, Gerry Johnson,
and David Cook.

Neighbours from the 12th line
Stephen Township, gathered at
the home in Dashwood of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Mason and
family to pay tribute to them
on their departure from the
neighbourhood. The evening
was spent playing cards followed
by lunch. Mr. and Mrs. lvlason
were presented TV tables for
which they graciously thanked
all.
Mrs. Elgin Rader has returned
home from Victoria Hospital,
London.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Rader and Darlenc
were Mr, and Mrs. Leonard
Prang, Zurich; Mr. and Mrs.
Garnet Weiberg, Waterloo;
and Mr, and Mrs. Irvin Rader.
Mrs, I-larry Hoffman and Mrs.
Albert Rader were delegates
at the Liberal Convention at the
Royal York Hotel, Toronto,
during the weekend.
Hold t4. orkshop
in Zurich
A Tweedsmuir History Work-
shop for Curators of South Huron
Women's Institute branches was
held in Zurich on Tuesday,
October 30. with an attendance
of 20.
Mrs. R.C. Walker, of St.
George, Provincial Curator of
Tweedsmuir Histories, conduct-
ed the workshop and much val-
uable information was received
by those present.

The first supper meeting of
Dashwood Men's Club was held
Monday, October 29, at the
Community Centre with the
Dashwood Women's Institute
catering. President, Hubert
Miller was in the chair. Among
other business was the election
of officers, namely, president
Arnold McCann; vice-presidents,
Victor Hartman, Paul Watson,
and Ken Baker, secretary -
treasurer, Bud Durdin.
