UNITED CHURCH SERVICE
The Sacrament of Infant
Baptism was held in Hensall
United Church, Sunday morning,
Denise Nicole,infant daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown
received the rights of baptism.
The choir sang the anthem
"God's Child am I." Rev. Don
Beck preached on the sermon
topic "The claims of Baptism, "
At Chiselhurst, David John, son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Jacobi,
and Jodi Beth, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Sararas received
the rights of baptism.
ST, PAULS ACW MEET
The regular meeting of the
Anglican Church Women of
St. Pauls Anglican Church was
held at the home of Mrs. D.
Windover. In the absence of
the president, the vice-president
Mrs. Windover presided.
The meeting opened with the
member's prayer and devotions
from the Living Message which
was taken by Mrs. Windover and
Mrs. Scrabuik. The scripture
°Elilihb `h'
lesson followed. ,A motion was
made to send $25 to the United
Pledge Fund.
Roll call was answered with a
Bible verse having the word
"Joy" in it.
Saturday, October 20, was
the date set for the Bazaar

Amber Rebekah Lodge meets
The regular meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge was held
Wednesday evening with Noble
Grand, Mrs. Irene Blackwell
presiding and being assisted by
V,G, Mrs. Aldeen Volland,
It was reported that Sister
Hazel Corbett is confined to her
home. A number of get well
and sympathy cards were report-
ed to have been sent. It was
decided that Tony Kyle will
come to the Lodge rooms on
September 27 at 8.30 to talk
about his experiences at the
Pilgrimage for Youth United
Nations tour in New York which
he attended in July. The com-
mittees in charge will attend to
lunch, after which there will
be a social hour of cards.
Mrs. Alice Ferg and Mrs.
Leona Parke volunteered to
visit the Queensway Nursing
Home.
Installation of Officers will
take place on October 3 in the
Lodge rooms with D, D. P. of
Huron District 23. Mrs. Mary
Gregg and her staff installing
new officers of Amber Rebekah
Lodge. Mrs. Aldeen Volland
and Mrs. Marg Ingram volunt-
eered to canvass for the CNIB
sometime in October. The
Charter was draped in memory
of three past presidents of the
Grand Lodge. A number had
birthdays since last meeting and
Happy Birthday was sung to thea
A card was sent to Mrs. George
Walker who celebrated her
92nd birthday recently.

This community was sorry
to learn last week of the passing
of Rev. T.J. Pitt, of St. John's
Newfoundland, who was pastor
of Varna and Goshen United
Churches from 1951 to 1962.
His many friends extend their
sympathy to Mrs. Pitt and the
members of her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Perce Johnston
are moving to their new home
in Bayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor,
are moving to their new home •
in Clinton.

William Robert Bell, of Hen-
sall passed away at Huronview,
Clinton on Saturday, Septemb-
er 22, 1973 in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of the late
Gertrude Zuefle, and father of
John, Chatham, William H.,
Hensall; Ronald, Windsor;
Donald, Toronto, Robert,
Thamesford; Mrs. John (Marg-
aret) Brown, Peterboro; Mrs,
Henning (Alma) Ingamensen,
Chicago; Ellen Knight, Exeter.
He was the brother of Elliott
R., Toronto and Mrs. James
(Jessie) Campbell, Windsor;
Also surviving are 17 grand-
children and two great grandsons
The late Mr. Bell rested at
the Bonthron Funeral Chapel
until Monday, September 24,
then to Carmel Presbyterian
Church, when service was held
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald
Beck officiating. Interment in
Baird's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were five sons and
one grandson, William, John,
Ronald, Donald, Robert Be11 and
Allan Knight.
