The Board reversed its decis-
ion re Paul Johnson of Goderich
and he will be permitted to
enroll in Central Huron Second-
ary School in order to take the
subjects of his choice. It was the
feeling of the Education Com-
mittee that Board Policy really
left the decision on this matter
to the discretion of the Admin-
istration..
The recommendation from
the Management Committee was
approved to accept Ross Scott
Limited of Brucefield, authoriz-
ed Sunoco Distributor, as the

Fall fertilizer
saves money
(by Pat Lynch, Soils and Crops
Specialist, Perth and Huron)
Now is the time for fall appl-
ications of both phosphorous and
potash. Since these two nutrients
move very little in the soil,
they may be applied now with-
out leaching loss during the
winter and spring months. Both
of these elements are helpful
to the alfalfa and grass plants
to insure that these plants over -
winter. This is the time of year
when forage plants are increas-
ing their root reserves for over-
wi ntering .
It is also a worthwhile exer-
cise to fall apply phosphorous
and potash to next year's corn
ground. This can be applied
before fall ploughing. There
are many reasons to fall apply
phosphorous and potash to next
year's corn ground.
- it eliminates some of the
work -load next spring.
- if applied before ploughing
it is one less trip to help pack
the soil next year
- it is almost certain that fertil-
izer will be more expensive
next spring.
