Married in Emmanuel Church
MacAULAY - RADER
Emmanuel United Church,
Zurich, was the setting of a
pretty wedding on August 4,
at 3 p. m. for the marriage of
Gloria Joan Rader, of Halifax,
Nova Scotia and Dr. Edward
Reid James MacAulay, of
Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs, Beatrice Rader, of Zurich,
and the late Harold Rader. The
groom is the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. James MacAulay, of
Truro, Nova Scotia.
Rev. H .G. Zurbrigg, of
Hamilton, performed the
double -ring ceremony amid a
decor of yellow mums and dais-
ies.
Given in marriage by her
brother-in-law, Clair Zurbrigg,
of Kitchener, the bride wore
a gown of French crepe styled
with a fitted bodice of lace
bateau neckline and elbow
length sleeves. The detachable
skirt had a bow at front and
back fullness forming into a
chapel train. For a headpiece
she wore a Spanish mantilla,
and carried daisies, yellow
roses and baby's breath.
Mrs. Catherine Zurbrigg, of
Kitchener, sister of the bride
was matron of honor wearing a
yellow Swiss dot dress with
empire waist, short puffed
sleeves and a scooped neckline.
Her headpiece was a wide
brimmed white hat with yellow
ribbon,
Mrs. Margaret MacDonald
of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,
and Miss Sandra Schock, of
Laguna Beach, California were

bridesmaids gowned similarly
to the matron of honor, Miss
Sandra Zurbrigg, of Kitchener,
was flower girl and master Paul
Zurbrigg, of Kitchener was
ringbearer.
Dr. ,Allan MacAulay, of
Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia,
was best man, and John Mac-
Aulay, of Truro, Nova Scotia,
and Donald MacAulay, of
British Columbia ushered the
guests.
Mrs. Neta Oesch, organist,
and Mrs. Beatrice Hess, pianist,
accompanied Mrs. Margaret
MacAulay, soloist who sang
"Such Lovely Things, " "The
Wedding Prayer" and "The
Wedding Benediction."
A wedding reception was held
at Emmanuel United Church ,
where the bride's mother receiv-
ed guests wearing a floor length
gown of pink crepe and lace,
and a corsage of pink sweetheart
roses. The groom's aunt assisted
wearing a formal gown of blue
crepe and lace and a corsage of
yellow roses.
For a wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the bride changed to
a navy and white suit.
The couple will reside in
Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia,
where the groom is employed
at Fundy Veterinarians and the
bride will continue working
for the Isaak Walton Kiliam
Hospital for children in Halifax.

Miss Betty Janke of Walkerton,
a worker with the Canadian
Arthritis and Rheumatism Soc-
iety spoke to the members of
Zurich Women's Institute as well
as many visitors from the town
and area in the Hay Township
Hall, on Monday evening,
September 3. She showed
films and spoke of her work and
help given to those who suffer
from this crippling disease,
A collection in aid of her
work was taken as well as a
donation from the Zurich
Women's Institute. Several
questions were answered by the
speaker.
A short business meeting of
the Women's Institute was held
after in which reports of several
projects during the summer
season were given as well as
plans for their bus trip and
other fall events were discussed.

Mr. and Mrs. Morley Witmer,
of Detroii, were recent visitors
with members of their family
and also attended the Zurich
Bean Festival.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fox, of
Arizona, visited for a few days
with Mr. and Mrs, Ted Stein-
bach,
