THREE WINNERS ON FRIDAY NIGHT
One of these three will be Quee
Tonight at seven o'clock one
of the three lovely girls pictured
above will be crowned "Miss
Bean Queen, " in conjunction
with the annual Bean Festival in
Zurich. The girls are, Left to
right, Glenda Fisher, Nancy Rae
McKinnon, and Nancy Shantz.
They were chosen at the prelimin
ary contest held last night in the
Zurich Community Centre.
A total of ten contestants ent-
ered the preliminary contest.
and the top three girls were
chosen by the judges to enter the
final round tonight. The other
seven girls who were entered in
the contest were; Janet Webb,
Paula Day, Reta Pennings, Cathy
Simmons, Wendy Hay, Susan
Erb, Marilyn Regier.
The girl chosen tonight to
reign as Queen will be crowned
by last year's Queen, Miss
Dianne Zehr. Also in attendance
at the function this evening will
be the 197 0 Michigan Bean
Queen, Miss Beverly Clingenpeel,
of Gratiot County. She arrived
in Zurich last night to take part
in the festival activities.
For rhe girl who will be crown-
ed Queen, it will mean an op-
portunity to compete in the Miss
Western Ontario Contest in
Lucknow on September 18. The
girl who wins that title will have
the right to advance into the
Miss Dominion of Canada cont-
est next summ,:r.
Judges for last night's event
were three owners of the Iluron
School of Fashion in Exeter,
Walter and Anna Rornaniuk and
Mrs. Ellen Knight.
